We are all sinners, almost no one dennies that we do a lot of bad things like lying, stealing, hating, be envious, look lustfully at persons, and a lot of other bad things that we accept as normal...
Before understanding the good news, we need to understand the bad ones: because of our sins, our evil, our pride, we are separated from God, our creator. Why?, because of who God is, he is HOLY, separated from evil, he is perfect unlike us, and he wont let evil peapole go without recibing a payment for their sins.
The fact that we are separeted from him has an impact in our present life, and in our afterlife (an eternal afterlife, where the consecuences of sins are recieved).
So, what are the good news exactly?
These are the good news (and you probably already read this somwhere):
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
We deserved to perish because of our sins, but the Son of God came to die in the place of sinners (he died in a cross, a kind of torture). He suffered what we deserved, he made possible for sinners to reconcile with God. He did not came to promise us health, money, fame. He came to save sinners. He created a path for salvation.
He said: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father" (God) "except through me."
He also said: "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
He is Jesus. He is the one that rose from the death.
So, do you want to be saved?
Repent from your sins, and believe in Jesus. Put your trust in him, because his finished work is enough to save us from the wrath of God. No amount of good works will save you, nor any religion, only Jesus saves.
If you want to know more about him, i invite you to read the gospel of John, it´s free in the internet (and getting a Bible is not hard at all).
