That's a mad quote from Jim Prior , remembering this was made approx 35 years ago. Talking about a possible timeline for unity and he says " if we are talking about a long time in the future like 50 , 60 years or a 100 years then yes I can't see why Ireland won't unite, when at the same time Britain could well join as one with France and Germany". In the 35 years since he said that Irelands no nearer unity and the thought that Britain could be one with France and Germany ....well we know how far away that is from ever happening and a bizarre thought.
I've never had a comment on a video upcoming before that explains something within an unseen video. The perks of being a Patreon member Jordan!! Good lad thanks for watching and yes some quote indeed!
I have no doubt that the UK politicians interviewed were well meaning, decent folks. They could hold other Gov positions successfully. The gulf between their position, and understanding, and the position on the ground in NI however was always too great for any success. Mistakes were made again and again in challenging circumstances. Sad times. May we never return there.
Just watched this and was surprised to see myself, and friends of old, in various clips within it from 40 years ago

I wouldn’t put a timeline on it but the Reunification of Ireland won’t arrive in the way we think.
@@ULYSSES-31I believe it will be more like a lack of "influence" from Britain. It will make more sense to unify it.
