  • Popping dance tutorials. This video is for beginners who want to get started with popping their chest. Sammy Ramirez and Ceech Hsu provided sample popping drills in this tutorial. Also, they have gone over techniques and common pitfalls or mistakes that most beginners make when trying to pop their chest.
    Popping is an incredible dance that mystifies the audience. To master this dance style is not easy. It requires lots of training to get the fast twitch muscle to react on beat. This tutorial provides important fundamentals that beginners should learn in order to build their popping foundations.
    After learning how to pop the chest, students should try out other popping foundation tutorials in this channel such as the legs, arms, neck, and eventually move to the popping choreography to learn how to put all of these techniques into a dance routine.

    Thank you so much for these popping tutorials! There's something that I've been curious about, and that is the stomach pop. Whenever I take a popping class, the teacher always says to pop your stomach, and I honestly have no idea what they are talking about. Is it similar to a chest pop?

    • @Nustudios
      @Nustudios  3 роки тому +1

      Nami, nice to meet you. I've also heard of poppers talk about popping their stomach. I really can't speak for any particular instructor about what they really mean when they pop their stomach. But if i were to really get detail about what muscles to pop, I have to admit that I would engage the abs (stomach). For me, it's definitely different from chest ( referring to this video ). I'm sorry I can't explain it further using text. If you were with me in person, I can show you. Even then, I think you would have to watch it multiple times and try it to get your body to understand. I hope that was helpful. I want to encourage you to keep asking. I'll always try to keep explaining until my students get it. Keep me updated on your progress.

    Thank you very much for the video. I have a question. Do you know other type of chest pops and their differences?
    This chest pop you show is done trough the contraction of the diafragma, similar to what happens naturally when you do a big inhalation. This pop visually looks like an "out" chest pop and I think of it as the easiest pop given the sensation.
    I know some teachers that teach the chest pop as the expansion of your abdominal muscles in combination with pecs contraction and also using the back muscles. Visually, the first one looks bigger but I think the second one looks awesome as its less evident where does the movement come from.
    But when I watch freestylers I watch them doing crazy things with their chest looking like going in, or out, or both things pretty fast and I can't identify what exactly they are doing. Hope you could help me out.

      Great question Daniel. I will have to see an example of what you are referring to first. Hopefully after I see that example I will be able to better explain.

    I notice that the neck muscle is also flexed during the chest pop? Would that help?

    • @Nustudios
      @Nustudios  3 роки тому +1

      great observation. i don't consciously try to flex the neck while doing the chest pop. i think it's because the neck muscles are so close to the chest. When i teach the chest pop, i tell my students to just focus on the chest. If the neck happens to flex, let it. I recommend that you try with both techniques. Once, with the intention of flexing your neck muscles. Second, without the intention. Let me know which works best. Results may vary depending the individual. I'm curious to know which is best for you.

      Nustudios Thank you! I tried it again today and found that the focusing on the chest and imagining that a string is pulling it (from what you suggested) worked!

      @@HelloTruDee that's awesome to hear. it took me about 1 year or practicing to really get the chest pop. glad you learned it so quickly.

    Sir, Can you plz tell me that where should my body ache when I start doing chest pops?? Is it the core and stomach or my back??

    • @Nustudios
      @Nustudios  4 роки тому

      Great question. I want to make everyone understands that you don't need to have body ache in order to get your chest pop. So, don't use the achiness of your body as an indicator of your progression. Watch the video again as Sammy and I explain the technique of how we pop our chest. The movement is mostly from your core.

    How long does it take to get chest pop?

    • @Nustudios
      @Nustudios  4 роки тому +3

      Mateus, I appreciate the question; however, I have to be careful in answering. For myself, I can say that I feel good about my chest pop about after 6 months of practicing. Some of my students improved faster than I did, and some slower. It depends on how much each individual practice. Everyone who is reading this, I hope you are encouraged by this because it's not about how quickly a person can pop. It's about not giving up on your goals. Some students quit learning about after 3 months, they couldn't get it. Some students quit after 3 minutes. I hope you will never quit on reaching your goal. In the end, it doesn't matter that I took 6 months and some people learned it faster, we all still end up having the skills and can get down and get funky.
