I'm going to have a booth this fall at the Slidell, Louisiana Antique Street festival. Most of my decor is shabby chic and vintage. I thank you for giving me so many ideas for crafts for my booth.
I’m originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Small family businesses that still tap their maple trees 🍁 buy these specialty bottles to sell their syrup in. A.k.a liquid gold. When we go back to visit we always pick up homemade maple syrup. I loved your upcycles! Great ideas to not keep just fall but able to use again for another time.
Hi Lisa So nice to have a visit from you today. Of Course I LOVE Everything. How awesome the vase ending up being of double use. Nicely Done, as usual. TYFS and Have a Wonderful weekend. Can't wait for the next video. (Pauline S)
I like the concept of multi-use crafts Lisa! Another idea for the pumpkin vase is remover the stem and replace with a black top hat and scarf for a Christmas snowman.
I immediately saw that vase as a pumpkin and was disappointed when you weren't going in that direction, and then I was delighted to see you go there! It turned out fantastic, Lisa. I was thinking I might look around to see if some of our old oak tree branches have a curved bit that might make a great looking pumpkin stem. I was wondering also if you dry fitted all that trim to make sure it would fit, and then adhered all of it to the stem only, making it easy to remove it and then to replace it again when you wanted to add it back. That texture resembles those bumpy pumpkins....just amazing and I love it! I like that bread board, too. Wish I could find some, but on the rare occasion I seen any breadboards, they are so expensive. Even Goodwill has become so proud of their items that I can't afford to flip them bc of the price I'd have to charge in my booth. I can hardly wait to see the second half! That bottle intrigues me😉
You saw it because you have a creative mind. That stem would be a great idea. And have you thought of making your own bread board? Julie makes them in Julie’s Designs and Signs and they are very simple to make if you have a jigsaw.
The thrifted bottle looks like a maple syrup bottle. Some are sold in a maple leaf shape bottle. I also saw a pumpkin when you first started painting the gray tone on the vase. Love the textured cream and white paint with just a little gray showing through.
Everything turned out beautiful Lisa. I really like the idea of turning the huge vase into a pumpkin. You have such a creative mind! Thank you for sharing!

Where did you get the first board?
There used to be a wholesale company that I ordered from but they went out of business during the pandemic.
Do you ever seal the items?
I do🙂
