Shout out to Stevens Ace Hardware in Wilmington, NC. Just bought my chic throne there. I'm a regular there, love supporting local. Great place for your hardware needs. Good people.
Darrell, welcome to Traeger cooking! Chef Jason does a recipe every Thursday on different grills. We do a lot on Traeger so if you're looking to get introduced check out those videos!
With the exception of the rub, I tried your recipe tonight... Perfect! I used the chicken rub that Traeger gave me when I purchased the smoker, and it's actually pretty good. Anyway, just wanted to pass along success following your instruction!! Wife said "this is a repeat!" Thanks for your contributions to the smokin' community!
Awesome video sir. I'm going to be using my new chicken throne tonight n I'm going to try using Apple juice in it as I'm not a beer drinker plus I'll be using chicken rub on it. This will also be my first time using our treager grill. My Ace hardware store is in Laurel MT n We get all of our treager stuff from there , I'm also going to be using Jack Daniels BBQ sauce on the chicken . Thank u. For the awesome video showing how to use a chicken throne. From Montana
Good looking recipe, going to try it the next time I have a whole chicken. I have the new Ironwood Traeger and just love the wifi function. I don't have to keep going back to the grill to see the temp of the meat. My Ace is Merrill Ace Hardware at Merrill Wisconsin.
Thanks Tim, yeah back in the day I juts used my iPhone microphone, I was a newbie. Our new content has great audio and 4k video. Taught myself a ton about content shooting and always making it better. Happy Cooking, Chef Jason
Nice videeo, fun to watch. Which model Traeger are you using? Have you ever tried to get 9 chicken (which size?) into a Traeger 850 timberline? Thanks for your great videos!!
Fred Hermanns Hi Fred, haven’t had 9 on there before, 6 was my magic number and they were about 3.25# birds. love my Timberline 850. I used a Pro34 in this video. The best part of the Timberline is the 3 levels. Perfect for doing your potatoes and veggies. Thanks for watching and for the nice compliment. Let me know if you need anything else. Happy Cooking, Chef J
I prefer to use oil as the flavor is cleaner, I find as mustard cooks in a grill and as the water from it evaporates, it leaves a bitter taste. Oil stays clean and doesn't affect the final flavor of my chicken

How come we never get a close-up of the finished product or a close-up of whatever he did when he tied the drumsticks together.
Next time, either a lapel mic or overhead boom with condencer mic (better).

Can you use mustard instead of olive oil?

Our Ace closed :(
You didn’t carve the bird and show us the complete results.
Your information is, okay, but you are exhausting to listen to. Calm down and stop yelling at us.
I don't yell anymore :-). sorry for the audio. Chef Jason
