    Does anyone when brand new para officers do P Coy?
    The new pte’s do it before passing out at catterick but the para officers on the platoon commanders course are training with other cap badges. Just interested.

      afaik it'll be after PCBC, Pass and straight to Regiment or fail and they'll go to another cap badge. I'm not a Para nor an officer so I do stand to be corrected though

      @@John-te4ej UKSF use both Belize and Brunei. Jungle phase of selection used to be in Belize, but I don't know if that is still the case. The Jungle Warfare Instructor Course (JWIC) used to be carried out in Brunei, but again not sure about now.

      Daniel Plummer yes cause in the jungle they don’t have to shave. If they cut themselves whilst shaving they can pick up an infection

    • @PaddyInf
      @PaddyInf 4 роки тому +1

      The students have to shave. The guy talking was an instructor. He should be shaving too really, to set an example.

    • @PaddyInf
      @PaddyInf 3 роки тому

      @Yorkshire Irishman Students on PCBC are supposed to shave. I know - I instructed on the course. Shaving in the J isn't the big deal it's made out to be. I've been a few times and never saw anyone get an infection from it. You are constantly getting cuts and scrapes all over you when patrolling, so a little scratch on your face makes no difference.

    • @JammyDodger45
      @JammyDodger45 Рік тому

      Outside of training courses no real soldiers shave daily in the field.
      The whole 'don't risk a cut in the J' is a made up tale, on my Jungle Warfare Instructors Course it was simply put that a bit of face fuzz aids Cam Cream staying on your face in the hot humid climate.
      After all if you need to shave and want to avoid cuts just use an electric razor!
