Fantastic content sir. I've just ordered a backwards compatible PS3 thanks to your videos. Along with my PS5, I'm hoping with the PS3 I'll be able to play PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 and PS5 games on just the two consoles. Genius on my part really. Keep it up!
@@geovede Interesting you say that.. as the first day I booted up the ps3 it worked perfectly fine but after a couple hours it froze and wasn't turning on properly but the next day it was fine again so I assume it overheated
There’s an adapter by 8bitdo that allows you to use any modern controller to whatever it’s linked to. It is only usb I think. I use my ps4 controller to play on ps3
Great joice p4 controller is absolutely amazing and it works wireless on the PS3 without an adapter. But remember the os Button won't work. So better keep am original ps3 Controller before U throw it in the trash
This^ I came here to say the same thing. I dislike the PS3 controller so much. I've been using mine with the PS5 controller and it worked like a dream. The sixaxis is great on R&C future. It's probably the device that made me love the PS3.
There's two versions of this controller one can do ps1,ps2,ps3. The other does ps3 (sixaxis compatible),ps4 and pc. The one with sixaxis is better for ps3.
I have one and it's the best thing ever for older consoles IMO. Originally DS3s are expensive and HEAVILY cloned. While I have 3 DS3s, I love using this more after playing a lot of PS5. It's close to the newer standard of size/shape.
Many "Labeled" old school SIXAXIS controllers are now fake and come with the build kits for Generic controllers where they swap out the buttons and PS button and try and sell as NEW OLD STOCK. WATCH OUT.
@@fryloc0034damn, thanks for the warning! Just hoping my ps2 and ps3 controllers don’t die anytime soon in that case 😢 I don’t want to pay full price for some fake product. Can I trust the ps4 controllers in retail though?
I need a video a day 😂 I love your retro gaming content can you make a video talking about do people still play retro game systems like 360 and ps3 in 2024
I like the look of this controller and mine are getting pretty old and have taken a beating over time. I'm glad the retro market is keeping the classics alive a little at a time.
The Brook Wingman converters (available on Amazon) are really good if you wanna use a PS4 or PS5 controiller w/ PS2 or PS3. The joystick tracking on 3rd party controllers haven't been good in my experiance.
the brook wingman for the ps2 is great way to use the ps4 controller on the ps2 .That i went 2 wal-mart to get 2 more ps4 controller as back ups so i don't get fake one's online .
The R2 and L2 triggers are very sensitive. I played through Silent Hill on PS1 and I would raise my weapon with R2 and move the camera with L2 when I wasn't intending to. Also the d-pad needs work as it's hard to walk in a straight line in games like Silent Hill and Resident Evil.
I do use wireless controllers but prefer wired because they don't have lithium batteries that will eventually die. The wired Hori fps pad 3 (ps3) is a great example. I use wired Nacon compact controllers on the ps4. They're petty good too. All my original wireless controllers get a charge every six months just to keep them alive. All in new condition. Always a good idea to put them in a silicon sleeve. I hate how used controllers get shiny over time.
The retro fighter bluetooth is fantastic. The triggers are super sensitive. The remote is ps4 compatible but there's no need to use it on the ps4 because official ps4 controllers are readily available but it is a great remote for the ps3.
It happened to my PS3 controller as well and you can fix it by adding extra double-sided-tape on the inside to the plastic strip that connects on the gamepad's motherboard. Sony used like a small foam cushion which wears out after a few years, then the plastic straps circuit do not connect to the controller's circuit anymore.
I'm a big fan of your videos about the PS3. I downloaded the BioShock demo the other day and you're right about how good it is. I'm also playing AC3 and FF13. I got stuck on Chapter 12 in FF and trying to defeat the dinosaur thing, but AC seems to be moving along. Would you recommend the PS4 or 5 for someone who is getting back into games, but not particularly good at them? 😄 I still love my PS3 but it's also starting to show signs of its age.
should check out the wingman xe2. Lets you use your DS4 and Dualsense on your PS3 like a dualshock 3, will all the features working an enabled that would be required for certain ps3 games(like sixaxis). I have this retro fighters controller I wanted to try, the R1 and L1 are too mushy compared to a normal dualshock to me and the buttons arent as responsive imo, they have too much travel to actuation, it is very comfortable however. The xe2 gave my ps3 a new life without dealing with beat up used controllers or 3rd party controllers with inconsistent quality, or paying $100+ for a new authentic dualshock 3.
Own one of these, primarily use for PS2. At least on my controller the L2/R2 triggers are way to sensitive with no tactile feedback/buffer. I trigger them by accident all the time just resting my fingers on them while holding the controller with a normal playing grip. Have to adjust my grip to a less comfortable position to avoid it. D-pad also isn't great...
DualShock 4 1st generation is best PS3 controller. It's the one without the lightbar on the square touchpad. The only downside is it needs to be plugged in.
Good video man 👍 I feel like I would have gotten injured by the box as well to be honest. Important question, were the buttons nice and clicky ? The PS4 and PS5 Controller will work on the PS3, you just got to keep it corded 😊
Im having trouble pairing mine. All i get is the 4 fast flashing lights no matter what. Slow flashing when charging. Im trying to pair with a PS Classic. HELP!!!
The bumpers are terrible for any game that requires aiming and shooting. You gotta push them quite hard if you wanna hold them. I was playing infamous a few months ago and it was very noticeable. The triggers also seem to be quite sensitive.
i soon buy this controller because i dont like the ps2 or ps3 controllers not since i grew they used too feel comfy on my hands but now there smaller now
DualShock 3 kinda sucks compared to DualShock 4. Why I still need DS3 on my PS3 is because PS button doesn't work when using DS4 lol Do PS button works with this one?
Absolutely right, even just a few views it's interesting that the most so far absolutely like the PS4 controller which definitely is in my opinion rock solid even for PS2 and ps3
Hi there, I honestly like your sh*t talking about, don't take this as an offence I honestly with you since I think I'm in that kind of a situation you are in... Not forget it what I want to say is I can absolutely understand what you talking about but ther is a hint just use the PS4 controller on your PS1 (which I don't have) but use it at least on your ps2 (which I have) adm you will be surprised how perfect the PS4 controller actually is. Use it on your PS3 there will be a time that.will f*ck you off, because the ps button won't work in the PS3 as it is originally intended to work with the original ps3 Controller. OK what I want to ask for just make an honest review of the PS4 dual shock controller using with your PS1 ps2 and PS3. I definitely would be so da*n interested what I think about it and the final conclusion about the PS4 controller is. Have a great night. Love your style an s video's I'm watching all the d*mn day. @@justinbieber6351 I am not "Mann" and I don't know about any "triggersss" or "badd". I do know however that the triggers feel pretty nice and it's easier to control how much you press them compared to the DualShock 2, due to being actual triggers instead of just pressure sensitive buttons

My favorite new UA-cam channel. You seriously make me want to play old games again!
Love this trend you are on. These two systems are true gaming masterpieces. Sony still hasn't reached the heights of these two consoles since.
