Have had the honour of seeing garranos in the wild in my adopted country of Portugal. So important to protect the heritage of the horses and donkeys that once toiled for humans and now have to find a new place in the world. Lovely video, Alyssa.
Beautiful horse, love the mane! So nice to see family tradition being passed down to keep this special breed. Thank you for sharing each one with us . ❤
What a stunning breed! It seems almost every country has heritage breeds in need of preservation AND dedicated local breeders who are seeing that these traditional horses stay a viable part of the culture. Thank you Alyssa and to Coudelaria Fernando Bezerra!
They are a beautiful breed. I love the fact that they are small and compact. That is my kind of horse ❤ Thank you for sharing all these wonderful horses from all over the world with us.
Oh my gosh, they are stunning and sound like a dream breed! Even some are gaited, that’s so amazing. I don’t think I have heard from them. It es so interesting to also see the traditional saddles and stirrups. I really hope the breed will remain and the numbers will grow. I would love to meet a Garrano horse one day! Thank you Alyssa for taking us all around the world to meet so many great horses, people, countries and history. I really cherish your videos! 😊
My neighbor has one, they are very surefooted and tough. the weird thing is that if you look to buy one, they are only a few hundred euros😮and people use them as goats, to clear the land...i hope they will get more " prestige" in the future! 💚🙏🐴
Fascinating. I've never heard of them before. It's amazing how the wild horses around the world have the massive manes and tails and quite often the pony or small horse size. My favorite color is the Bay and this breed has an incredible rich reddish coat. What did you think of about the traditional saddles? Were they comfortable? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Alyssa! Thank you for an amazing and educational year of stories and videos. x
2000 instead of 40.000 is a lot of diference, but endangered??? How many horses they have on that farm? Preserve a horsebreed is'nt so easy, but i think you need more horses to help to preserve. But their saddles are special, more looking like westernstyle. Even in the same breed every horse is diferent.😊

So special seeing the smile on Grand Dad and Grand Daughter. And, I loved how the horse responded to the young one. wow, thanks

Another wonderfull breed. Thank you so much, Alyssa!
I have never heard of this breed! Omgosh the stirrups!? They seem very sweet!❤
I have its Spanish cousin, the Pura raza galega. He can cover miles in the mountains at speed when gating

A beautiful horse, smaller but with intelligence and character. What a wonderful family. Thanks 🐎😊
What a rich heritage they are a part of.
What a beautiful breed! Never heard of the Garrano before...their nature and their bay colour make them quite interesting imo. :D
I hope your exposure of these differant breeds will help in populating the breed!
I noticed the gait on the one you rode. They remind me of old style Morgans, so of course I love them!

Ohh yes, they are very bonded to their caretaker/ rider and will test other riders😂
Yes I have heard of this breed. ❤ I like the temperament too. It is just as beautiful as all the others you have rode.
Yes I looked up all the Spanish breeds recently because I ADOPTED A KILLPEN YEARLING RECENTLY WHO SEEMED SPANISH-these Garrano horses are lovely!!!!
The horse wings out in a way that reminds me of Peruvian Paso (Paso Peruano) horses.
Yes! I was going to write that too 😊
Wow! I had breefly herd of this breed, but had no idé they would remind me of the Icelandic horse! ❤❤ Lovely strong little horses!!!
Love this little breed! ❤️

I want one or two. I love them.
They are so cute! I’d be interested to know more about the gaited lines.
Are they living in this narrow box without window? The mare looked disturbed.
I’ve never heard of this breed. They look like they’d be nice bareback.
