      No, it's an aerobatic category glider they do this often so, smoke does not equal jet power.

      It's dumping water ballast - high performance sailplanes often carry water in wing tanks to improve speed for cross country flights, which needs to be jettisoned before landing, usually during the final glide home and at low level while crossing the finish line in competitions.
