This is an awesome idea for a series, just documenting your progress to share the knowledge!

Getting that first 0-10k monthly listeners is so freaking difficult and I don’t think people acknowledge it enough :/ Especially when you’re in the content creation cycle and can’t focus on just making art.
Something I’ve noticed lately that seems to be a theme among up and coming artists (especially in the hyperpop scene) is a really strong soundcloud following, and a big discord friend group of other producers - maybe you could try focusing one of those for the next episode??
    cheering for you brother ❤️

one thing I have noticed works every once in a while on tiktok is to branch out just the slightest bit in content. so maybe make like a funny video based around music history or a cover of a really good existing song. At least that's what drove me up to 3k followers on tiktok

to provide a little insight i found your channel while searching for hyperpop tutorials. not a whole lot of people were doing them then so your videos popped up.
now i can't speak for everyone but id make a strong guess that a good chunk of your youtube followers were also from the hyperpop videos. i'm not going to say MAKEHYPERPOP because you should make what you like but just know your audience is probably built off the genre and having the stylistic discrepancy between that and your actual music is probably not something conducive to musical recognition.
i'm sure you already know this but just thought i'd throw it out on the off chance you didn't cus i like your channel and you seem cool. this is also a great series idea and good luck brother

thanks! I know my audience is mostly hyperpop enjoyers but also people who are interested in releasing music too which is why I made this series. I know my personal music is pretty different but I know the behind the scenes of music promotion/growing a music career is something that most growing artists will be interested in, regardless of the genre. Glad you like the series!

It’s easy to get a lot of views on your playlists on UA-cam music I’ve found. Without even realizing or trying I made a playlist with 1.4k views. And usually they get at least 100 without trying to push or promote it

But also I see your trying to get streams on Spotify so may not do too much for that

I would recommend to make the aesthetics of your tiktoks simpler and more casual. Videos with semi-pro looks don't really work well in TikTok. I would advise you to increase the variety of places where you film yourself, keep it casual and not include all the "audio info" (spectograms, frecuency response chart, etc). Also, make sure to research how to get your videos categorized in the app, TikTok SEO is the most important thing nowadays

hey- i cant help but get this video off my mind. dont you feel like the approach youre taking is wrong? im talking about your whole brand and what you want to do. like you have plenty of potential- i mean ive learned so much from your hyperpop videos (produce like umru and whatknot) and honestly you were a big reason as to why i picked ableton as my daw of choice. i was kinda surprised and honestly a little bummed that you didnt make hyperpop as your main genre because i like the work you made in the videos and i would have been more than happy to bump it to my friends, but you make house edm type songs so it really did throw me off a little. sure its good, but tbh it just isnt as marketable and as widely listenable to the music you could make that you’ve already shown youre good at, like hyperpop. now im not saying change ur brand as a whole to be a hyperpop artist, and i saw a similar comment talking about it, just look at everything differently- instead of making a song recommendation tiktok make a livestream for song reviews, like underrated artist season (uas) does on their twitch, tiktok and discord and they update their playlist regularly. niztopia does that too, but he also just makes general livestreams about everything. bishu also streams just making random genres and beats or whatever and thats really fun and funny to engage in. also why dont you have a discord community 😭 i would love to communicate with you not only as a fan but as someone that genuinely wants to help with your vision.
you have a lot of potential and already have a base that so many people wish they had to begin with. youre just creatively lost- and thinking about it like ‘i would do anything for views’ is entirely wrong. it should be ‘what can i do that is genuinely interesting enough to make content for platforms while still exposing myself as a producer and artist on spotify while being able to properly make an audience that wants to not only follow me as a content creator but as an artist that actually plays my music?’
i would love to help you out. again i believe in your vision and have been following for a minute on the youtube side. otherwise good luck on your venture 🫡

Those are a lot of good points, definitely all things I will consider!
      As for the hyperpop videos:
I’m not sure if I’ve explained it before, why I’m not making Hyperpop videos anymore. When I started, there were very few creators going all in on them so I saw an opportunity to teach a new wave of producers how to make that type of music. It was one of the most successful things I did for the channel but it wasn’t sustainable for me. It wasn’t the type of music that I personally enjoyed making so my heart was never fully in it and it was hard to stay excited for more than a year or two making those types of videos for the channel. I know that making edm as an artist has always been the main goal of mine and I thought really hard about how to incorporate my desire to do that with my existing audience built mostly off of hyperpop videos. I felt like this series could show things that are applicable to artists and producers of any genre while being a more sustainable model for me because I get to work on the type of music that is artistically satisfying to me.
Something that I’ve had to learn over and over again in many parts of my life is that if you work hard enough and continue to learn, you can be successful at anything so you should really choose something that you enjoy doing in the first place- something that you wouldn’t mind doing for years and years. I hope everyone reading this understands where I’m coming from.
Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
