I'm confused about something. If the Hound's Tooth was the replacement for a ship destroyed by Han and Chewbacca, how did it once carry Asajj Ventress? Maybe this is an assumption on my part, but I associate her with the Clone War and generally thought she didn't survive that era.

Good catch! Unfortunately it's one of those legends vs. Disney canon situations, but you are right on both counts. The legends continuity says that the first ship was destroyed, but the clone wars shows ventress on the hounds tooth.
