    I have the 21 KLX230 with knobby Pirelli MT16s, which adds a couple of inches to the seat height. I'm probably a small bit taller than you, but need the traction for mud and sand. I removed the baffle so I can be heard in the woods. Don't need to crash into deer, horseback riders, or worse. They get out of my way when they hear me coming around the bend. Haven't noticed any loss of power. I can hit 75 on the street, without difficulty, with fat knobbies and no baffle.

    cool! looking at one of these as a second bike for fun

    Good stuff! You will have fun on this for sure. I opted for the 300sm as I mainly ride on pavement. A 230/300cc will always leave you wanting more speed on the road but regardless, it’s still fun and you can really hone your skills and be aggressive with it. Totally forgiving bike. Enjoy and ride safe 🙌

    Just take the baffle out and replace the air filter with a k&n and you'll won't lose any power, actually you'll gain a little bit and gain a lot more fun on the bike. Just do it and don't tune it. I've done this for the past 30+ years and gained a lot of fun and actually more power. Believe that!

    Awesome. After 10 years of not riding my old cbr600 I bought a Tw200 this year. Back into it. Gonna get the cbr rocket running and maybe do another brand new on/off like the Kawi 300. Or some crazy street bike with 120hp.

    Wow can't wait to see some footage of you riding! You should try filming with a gopro chest mounted! It gives such a cool POV and it looks like you live by very scenic dirt roads😍

    Awesome stuff! I have been thinking about getting a trail bike myself for quite some time. Another toy for the channel and another rabbit hole to explore. Never had one, just atvs. I think. A bike might look good in the back of my Mojave 🤔 keep up the great videos!

    FYI get a crash bar. It is a great thing to have. For when you dump it and yes you will dump it. I've been riding 50 years plus and I've dumped my bikes . Mud and rocks things happen. But it's a great bike

    i have one regular size . make sure you check the oil level often and changed it before it gets to dark and allways carry extra quart of new oil if long trip .they burn lots of oil especially in summer . and also check the screws of the handle bar often make sure they are tight they get loose becouse of vibration especially if you off road .you have to pull on handle bar make sure is solid before every ride . i lost one of the bracketts raiding slow on town lucky it has 2 to keep the handle bar attach to the bike . butt it could have been lost of control and handle bar off . angels where with me that day . i was near dealer they put new one . i call kawasaki they said dealer need to tight tork it rigth . well i check the handle bars every time before i ride . mine has abs . i am gonna up grade to water cooled 300 as soon they put abs on them . try the kawasaki vulcan s 650 abs i have 1 of those to they low cruiser style they custom them free for your high very easy begginer motorcycle lots of power for highway cruising . better tha honda 500 rebel . make sure you get abs model . good luck .

    Kawasaki does make a 300 KLXs with the lower seat height for those that are vertically challenged. You should look into getting yourself a decent pair of adventure boots and more protective riding jacket and pants with level 2 armor in them. I ride a KTM 890 ADV bike which can do what I want to do with the bike and there is room for growth as my off road riding skills improve,

    Ma'am, I've been riding bikes 45+ years, mostly heavy street cruisers. I wouldn't consider this bike, "entry level", it's built to do what it's built to do, and it's easy to ride for beginners or old riders like me. Any motorcycle that serves the purpose for which you bought it, is good. Expect no more than what it's designed to do, and you're good to go. And yes, it's a great little commuter bike, and it does well on my gravel/dirt NC backroads here in the mountains. 😂

    My KLX300 struggles at freeway speeds as well. Not a whole lot of power difference in the two bikes. So if you ever felt the need to upgrade, I’d go with something much bigger. Sorry, but I think your height is going to limit you on a bigger bike until gain the confidence to ride without flat footing it.

      It’s one of those things that’s been drilled into peoples heads for so long they believe it to be true. When people talk about “upgrading”, I feel my eyes rolling. Same with putting $2k worth of unneeded parts on a $4K bike. How about just learning to ride it well. Spend your money on that.

    I’m 5’10” and buying the 230s. It’s a lot easier to ride in stop and go traffic being able to flat foot. I think the 300 seat is 2” higher.

    Everyone who owns these say that is the most uncomfortable hard seat they have ever sat on, is that your experience as well?

    • @Lilmissjeepher
      @Lilmissjeepher  Місяць тому +1

      I don’t think it’s that bad! On long rides like 4+ hours yea it gets a bit uncomfortable but isn’t terrible
