I have mine 3 weeks just stop working on ps5. Less than 3 weeks i used it about 5 times 20hrs maybe ps5 stoped detecting it when i plug it in. Reading lots of people having issues with hel 2 and the fulla all seem to be usb related have to send it back now which will be expensive for me as i am in the uk waited so long for this product and its such a let down so avoid people until the issues are sorted

I ask because mine would act up if I didn't fully turn it off after playing (and on again after). Letting it always stay on seemed to cause issue.
I had the Astro Mixamp since this past Tuesday & the Astro A40's since this past Thursday & I've just got rid of them today!!! It's a good amp but honestly I don't think it's worth the $129 price especially when I like my $30 Neotek amp better that I got from Amazon but because of you I ordered the Schiit Hel 2 a few day's ago & so now Im just waiting for the 6 to 8 weeks to get it 😂😂😂😢🤦🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
sorry for being naive to all this. is it possible to connect a wireless usb dongle to the DAC and use it how you would if you plugged the wireless dongle into the Ps5, looking at the ps5 ports I assume you would need a USB-C to USB-A converter or something? believe it or not I have the H6 pro connected vi at the dual shock ps5 and I am on the limit on some games. I recently go the TB stealth pro and again on the max volume limit. I had my ears tested and they are fine apparently lol
Hi! Welcome! If you’re using any wireless device then I would recommend against this. Most wireless devices use their own internal DAC. So getting this with that would produce marginal gains at best.

Rewatched the video to see if i was doing something wrong with the Benklin USB hub, but nope. Consoles only work with that single USB jumper cable port. the PS5 & Switch will not work with any of the 4 other USB ports unfortunately....
I have a pair of beyerdynamic dt 990 pro 250 ohms. love these things. forced to get rid of them if I don't find a way to fully power these bad boyz. schiit hel 2 looks like the answer! Currently running my Beyerdyamic through my controller because I get better sound with them instead of plugging them in the USB Fifine k658 Mic thats connected to my ps5. if you can led a hand with explaining on what I need to set this up with Schiit Hel-2. Interesting. I use the Sennheiser HD 650 (300 ohms) and hurts at max volume. You using the gain switch on the front? Seems to help. Also, are you using the power brick provided? I used a different one and it didn't drive the signal nearly as hard. Lastly, what's the output volume set at on your PS5? (headphone volume output)
@@vypermajiki did have it on high gain, ps5 volume was also set to high. Also tried a different wall wart. No luck. I sent it in for repair may be theres a voltage drop on my unit
Yes the ports are powered but it isn’t enough to power this device. You’ll need to plug it in the wall for power and into the console for the data connection.

😭 such a hassle, lol. this is kinda why i decided to go with a Fulla 4 (which just shipped yesterday!!). don't really need a long cable for it though. gonna go with a 6ft anker powerline+II cable and hope it works fine..

But where does that leave the Nintendo Switch? That Belkin Hub has 4 USB ports, so couldn’t you use another 16ft 2.0 USB cable, and have it plugged into the side of the switch and then straight to one of the 4 Belkin hubs USB ports as well
I don't use Switch online, but yes, that would absolutely work. Switch is my "collection" machine - Capcom Beat-em-up, Contra, Castlevania... etch. All single player... maybe if Splatoon 3 gets me hooked, I'll get on comms for some hot squid action. :) Thanks for the comment.
Yup! Switch is a perfect fit for retro compilations and you’ve got to have it for the exclusives plain and simple. It’s a bit of a bummer though that the switch pro controller has just over 12ms more input lag than the joycons. Tested and confirmed. Thankfully the duel sense has very low latency, which is why I always opt for 3rd party titles on PS5, aside from gaining higher frame rates, resolution, visuals etc. But ya, so you’re saying if I get two 16ft 2.0 USB A to A male cables, I can run both from my PS5 & Switch and straight to two of the four USB ports on the Benklin Hub and have it working perfectly? I’m also using a sound blaster G6 DAC if that even matters
Hey Jim, I just got my Schiit Hel-2 and I'm trying to use it on my laptop with a Sennheiser HD 599 and a boom mic. The boom mic has a splitter to convert from TRRS to TRS for mic and audio, but I'm getting a horrible base hum on the mic and a very muddy mic audio. I've tried using the splitter that came with the Hel, as well as the splitter that came with the boom mic with the same result. Do you have any recommendations on what to use to fix the mic issue?
Hey TheOther Stig, I'm sorry to hear about your issue! I don't know if this will help you, but a few things I noticed when utilizing the Hel-2 between a PS5 and my PC. + Preference is to "let the hardware do the work" - as in, I turn my microphone gain/sensitivity very low on the console/PC and instead crank up the microphone volume on the Hel-2 + I use a lavalier microphone but it's omni-directional nature picks up far too much interference. I used to use a Rode boom mic for my YT videos but found it to be a little basey + In your PC settings, check your microphone levels and turn off any extra gains Windows throws on (+20 dB is a pretty common setting) I hope these ideas either fix the issue or give you some other ideas on troubleshooting!
@@vypermajik Thank you for the quick reply! I figured out a workaround. I put a male to female TRRS adapter from another gaming headset in between the boom mic headphone cable and the Hel splitter and it's working now. Must be a faulty/cheap connector or ground on the boom mic. Thanks for the help!
I just received the newest version called the Schiit Hel 2e (not sure what the "e" means), but the USB cables they provided with mine are only 6' long, not 10'...I actually need 10' cables because I want the Hel 2 next to me when gaming..
@@vypermajik ok, so this is where I am very confused...I got so excited to try out the Schiit Hel2e, but I noticed that the volume is nowhere the loudness I was expecting,or reading about..Keep in mind that I am using gaming headsets from Razer, Astro, steel series, etc..However, I have the gain set to low..now when I set the gain to high, then yes it gets very loud..My question is, will it destroy these gaming headsets if I use them with the Hel2e high gain? Low gain is just not satisfying at all..However, I don't want to ruin my headsets with high gain, as I know that the impedance level for these kinds of headsets is quite low...Also, I am using this DAC for my PS5 via USB connection...If I plug the headset directly into my dualsense controller, the volume that way is the exact same as it is with the Schiit Hel2e in low gain mode (more than halfway up)..what am I missing??!
When having a dac connected to the ps5, can you connect an amp tot he DAC? And does the zen dac v2 work on the ps5 btw.? Also should I use the power supply or only use the USB cable when connecting the zen dac,? if the zen works in the first place!
You won't need an amp with this setup, it's insanely loud (like hurts your ears loud). I always recommend clean power, from a wall. More USB connections muddy things up.

Anyways the dac works just fine and could connect my lake people g103-P without a problem. Also your right about needing the power supply, without it I realized reduced performance in some games. I bought one recently and I can't get it work :( PS5 Front USB port to Hel2E, set to linear PCM, toggled to USB on front of Hel2E, and nothing. The PS5 recognizes the Hel and shows it on the menu, but no sound coming through.
If you're using optical TOS link you're limited to PCM or bitrate because of tos link bandwith limitation *ps5 doesn't have optical out either. What a bummer
Buy a pack of ferrite beads and clip them on the ends of every cable in that run. That long of a run you are certain to have some emi dimishing sound quality. They are cheap and well worth it.
Thanks for the tip! So far the powered USB hub has handled well and I don’t have any interference. But ferrite works wonders, I’ve had an old pair since I started hearing FM stations picked up on my speakers when I was in college. 😅

The regular Hel has the same power. The difference between the Hel and Hel 2 is that the Hel 2 now has a optical cable connection

Minor issue with volume. Having a 250 ohms headphone i need to turn the knob at 3 oclock to get decent volume

Voice changer? I guess as part of your output you could. It’ll output a clear signal to whatever box you want.

It's an interesting design choice, but you aren't maxing out the data transfer so they probably did this to save money.

Only master volume for the entire sound output. Individual tuning (Game, Party) will have to be done via PS5 interface.

No. It’s designed for wired solutions. Wireless basically has a mini DAC in the earpiece but it definitely doesn’t drive like this does.
