- This is American reacts to brazilian carnival for the first time! Hi everyone, welcome to Candy Unwrapped. Today I decided to dig deep into one of the biggest, craziest, wildest cultural events of Brazil: the Carnival or Carnaval. I'm just blown away! It's one of those things that you have to see at least once in your lifetime.

Every year, each samba school chooses a diferent theme to the parade.The theme could be anything; religious, politics, pop culture, world culture, food, sports... They need to tell a story through the song, the floats, the performances and costumes. The song you heard in the backgroung is played live for 60 /70 minutes, that's the time the samba school have to walk all the 700 meters long avenue. Everything needs to be perfect because they'll be valuated by judges. At the end, the best Samba School win the title of "champion of the carnival" for the year.
You're right, they start the next carnival planning right away lol They need to make between 2500/3500 costumes, the floats, the song, coreography... and they need to rehearse everything...
This is a summary, there's so much more about it.
The parades is not acessible to all brazilians (Brazil is huge like US, the most famous parades happens in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo) so the most commun to brazilians are the street parties that happens all over Brazil. one thing... about the flag color of BRAZIL... the green and yellow in the flag... is about the first emperor of Brasil... green is about royal house of portugal, Bragança, the yellow is the royal house of the habsburgo from Austria... long royal weding story... 🤐 but, others says that the color is about forest and gold... 🤦♂️
The dancer costumes color is about each school flag... each night we have 7 school... bla-bla-bla... 🤪 come to see in Rio... best planet show 💜
