How to sow seeds from the Big Seed Sow 2024 | The RHS

Sowing seeds is a true joy to gardeners at any level. Be it direct sowing, which is sowing the seeds where they will grow on, or sowing indoors in trays to start your seedlings, this video will show you how to get started. A top tip for any seeds you sow - don't forget to label what you've sown!
Here, we sow California poppies directly where they'll grow on to mature plants, and cosmos in trays where they will either be potted up once they're seedlings to mature, or pricked out as seedlings and planted out in the garden.
Grow With It is an annual programme designed to support school and community gardeners to get growing, connect with each other and share knowledge and resources. It kicks off with the RHS Big Seed Sow each spring.

Thanks. Doing grow with it with my daughter but missed this video and maybe planted the seeds too close together but they are still coming up so see how it goes.

That was good instruction. Do you need to harden off your plants before leaving them out all the time? Maybe the weather is mild enough now or the types of plants that you are growing are tough.
