I am a fan of the show but I love Jeanine Tesori's music normally. I find her music like Sondheim where I have a deeper appreciation of it the more i hear it.
Justin Cooley was definitively one of the best part of the shows!! he was absolutely hilarious and definitely stole every scene he was in, and ofc Bonnie as well! I was in NYC yesterday as well! hope you had fun and enjoyed your trip!
I thought it was just me with the expectations on the story and the score! A lot of emotional plot they could have explored more but didn't, maybe that was on purpose (because apparently post-covid most people don't like depressing storylines)? Also +100 regarding the score not having a banger. Really expected to have a "Words Fail" kind of song where the theatre would just be flooded with tears...
I'm confused to watch an entire Kimberly Akimbo review that doesn't mention the performance of either Tony-winning actress for the show 😂 I mostly felt the same way about the show itself - great show, but not top tier for me.

For me the shower song is Anagram.

Father Time is the stand out song for me but it is a bit more of a quiet one compared to something like Michael in the Bathroom
This show wrecked me. Full weeping all of act 2 both times I saw it

BTW welcome to our fair city! Try Here Lies Love for a whole different experience (particularly in the standing area.)
