Unfortunately it isn't in Israeli society. She will have her career prospects affected as most young people in job interviews get asked about their conscription activities. She will also face being a social outcast as the vast, vast majority of Israeli society does not share her beliefs on this topic.

Look at some of the orthodox Jewish protests against forced enlistment. The Isreali police beat them so much.
There have also been Rabbi's that say if they try to force us to enlist we will leave the country.

Resistance in the west bank and al-quds isn’t Hamas and I’m sure even in Gaza not every resistance group is automatically Hamas. Whatever Hamas’s motives are, they are opposed to Israeli occupation. Armed resistance is the only way by which Palestinians can free themselves from armed occupation. Palestinians don’t have the luxury to abide by Western standards as they’re left to fend for themselves while Israel is backed by every western power.

But yes, there are indeed other resistance groups other than Hamas who support Hamas and the destruction of Israel. Including Iran, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Qatar, Lebanon…so literally almost every Arab league state!!

Indeed. I listened to this live and was blown away by Sophia's magnificent articulacy. It makes me think that there must surely be many Israeli people who feel this way, but the local sanctions against them if they dared to speak out are just too brutal. This makes me think of Jerusalem teacher Meir Baruchin who was brutally sanctioned last year for criticising the military. Brave, brave souls.

Many Israeli youth chose not to serve in the idf for many of the same reasons but non of them get sent to prison...in fact, I know quite a few, unfortunately. The ones who go to prison do so to get out of any kind of national service and that's not something to be cheered. That behaviour is deplorable.
