Honestly I’m just excited to see where this Story for Azula will take her, if the writing is well written and keep her “Azula” persona while slowly becoming a better person, or at least socially acceptable around regular people then that’d be amazing. I wouldn’t mind if she became the Jason Todd/Red Hood of the Avatar Universe in my opinion. Also I agree Anti-Hero Azula is the best conclusion for
Azula is absolutely getting redeemed and this is the beginning of it. Redemption is an amazing thing to have and I still relish my own redemption days. I was redeemed from mutual misunderstandings in life with my classmates. I hail from Texas and the hospital I was born in can be seen on some episodes of Walker Texas Ranger. In 2003 we moved and that was the beginning of my mutual misunderstandings. It got better with time and finally when I started my college senate service everything changed for the better. I am now poised to become a major leader and implement solutions to a lot of current problems in society environmentally.
Just read the most incredible TyZula fanfiction, where Azula studied airbending meditation for 3 years in prison, to better herself, and face her demons. Ty Lee was the only one who visited her once a month, and eventually, helped Azula break out of prison, so they could live and stay together on the sun warrior island, where the dragons also deemed Azula worthy after her transformation. So much better than the official comics, very professional writing.
Love you video my friend and I also brought the book couple it’s really amazing I hope there’s a future azula comics get hers redemption story I really love seeing azula and ursa together ❤❤
Thank you so much! Yeah I hope we get a slow buildup to her redemption. It'd have to be a bunch of stories not something quick. I really hope we do see it someday. :)
The way I would start a story like this would be having Zuko as the main character this time, starting the scene of him and Aang sitting in a negotiation table in Ba Sing Se, discussing about the de-colonisation of the Fire Nation's conquered land. Katara, Sokka, and Toph would be back at their own homes during this. After the meeting ends, both of them would comment how much politics suck before going to Iroh's teashop so that Zuko can brew a pot of tea for someone special. Zuko would ask Aang to come with him to the Fire Nation capital. They ride on Appa, with Zuko even using firebending to keep the tea pot hot during the journey. It turns out that Zuko wanted to visit Azula in the dungeon of the palace, hoping to at least help her the same way Iroh helped him. And when he asked himself what would Iroh do to help Azula, offering tea was the first thing that came to his mind. But on the moment Zuko was just about to pour her a cup, she furiously knocks the pot off his hands, shattering it on the ground and wasting all of his effort. There would be angry banter between them, until Zuko tells Aang that he brought him here so that he can take Azula's bending just like he did to Ozai. Aang would agree to do it, and Azula was incredibly shocked and terrified. She feels that she already lost everything and that her bending is the only thing she has left. She even cries and begs her brother to stop Aang despite him being the person she hates the most. Zuko feels horrified of hearing Azula cry like that and would tell Aang to stop just before he was about to take her bending away. He would do this because he is afraid that this would cause her to finally lose her will to live. He would move Azula out of the dungeon and back into her own bedroom, but still restrained and guarded as a prisoner. The road to reconciliation between the two siblings would be a very long and brutal path, especially when Zuko still has to deal with the issues of extremists among the Water tribes and Earth Kingdom, as well as loyalists to Ozai who want to overthrow Zuko.
@@Sarah-ml8mpI doubt that, she clearly had a crush on Chan and probably would have become his girlfriend if she toned down her ‘Most powerful couple’ monologue.

I was and am apposed to Azula having a redemption arc. Stories have morals, messages, lessons to teach. Sometimes these moral lesson messages speak louder if someone gets a bad ending. It's better to think about what went wrong with Azula and how things could have different rather than fixing her and not dwell on it further. Sometimes, it better that a story makes you think than giving answers,
Cancel the live action of netflix which by the way there's no reason to tell a story we already know. Netflix is becoming disney now apparently. And just give us another book (season) of avatar last airbender where we see her redemption
Even new film about Bolin Naktak would be better. Especially if there will be old, Azula, lord of the demondragons Ozai, evil general Yung and Long Feng or Yakone, that Ozai will bring back to life. I hope Ozai will not swallow Katara's soul
They are changing a lot of it. Know Straight characters will be openly gay, Kyoshi will be Aang's primary Avatar spirit guide instead of Roku. Roku being related to Zuko is no longer important. Sozin's comet is no longer a major plot point as the story will take place over years not months.
In the episode Beginnings Korra met Azula's good twin sister. I thought it might be Azula, but real Azula would burn Korra and the rest of this abominations to ash👿🔥Just like her father Kavaxas😈
Honestly I think she should remain the villain. A lot of people are focusing on the wrong thing imo. They focus on whether or not she can be redeemed (which is a whole argument on its own) but in my opinion what really matters is should she be redeemed? Would it be narratively satisfying, would it make for interesting storytelling, etc. In my opinion no, as a villain she makes for a really interesting character and foil to Zuko and to take that away would make her a lot less interesting.
Yeah I agree. I think at the most she should just be an anti-hero. Like she isn't evil but she's also just doing her own thing. The character growth must happen over a long period of time.
yes it would because they're all human beings. and humans/characters change over time. a redemption arc after all the story thus far is her only natural progression. as iroh says - she has to find what she really wants and desires. and that's to actually not be alone without being the monster she is - it's just that, that's all she has ever known. so it's only natural to have a redemption arc - this means reconciling with her mother first, then brother, and possibly team aang + father. it's fitting writing.
@@damianlim3429 I suppose, but tbh the issue for me is that her character has already reached the end of her natural progression. She had a solid story arc as the villain, and I feel you don't need to add more to that.
@@Twiggierjetthere is a bigger problem. Her story has for a long time been left up in the air without proper conclusion. Since she is absent in Korra and never mentioned, we do not know what happens to her ultimately even after the latest comic. When smoke and shadow came out in 2016, the expectation was that we will get a follow up comic soon. Instead it took more than 7 years for a follow up. The question is whether avatar studios will commit to continuing and concluding her story. I fear there is a possibility her story may not follow up, given track record of previous years.
To answer your questions it really depends on a person. For some people Azula being a villain is best and for some a redemption will be best. Everyone has his her opinions. Do not expect everyone to share your views. Her story done well either way can work.😊
Azula doesn't need a redemption, she's one of the best written villains in animation history. she's complex, misunderstood, evil but part of her still loves her family's especially her brother and her mother, dont ruin her character by making her another happy Clappy basic good guy, not everyone needs to he a hero. at most she needs to be an anti hero that tries to turn zuko evil and does some good from time to time
She strikes me more as an antihero once her redemption arc is over. Doubt she’ll be one of the good guys. Also, she’s young, and propel changed specially if one realizes that some teaching they got on their childhood is wrong and they strive forward to make a constructive change
Personally, i feel azula should have a arc where she slowly revealed to be a lesbian. Not crazy for being a lesbian, but maybe runs into a girl that helps guide her to being a anti hero. An Azula starts realizing that she did in fact liked Ty Lee, but couldn't see it because of the training and teachings she had. In another comic, with korra, ozai was shown to be anti lgbt. So it wouldn't surprise me if she had lgbt feelings, but suppressed them. Thus also explaining why she had a hard time connecting with boys romantically.
Azula's not being redeemed one bit. she's blaming her whole family & friends as a shitty excuse for her behavior and playing the victim. She's not even worthy of the redemption the old woman wanted to give her desperately. she feels no remorse and will forever continue to be a narcissist. I don't care for Azula and her whining or this pointless chapter.
But she did change. If you notice, she repeats the mantra that she’ll make them pay, her new followers, and when she sees them after her night at the temple, she tries to reconcile that they’re just beneath her, but she doesn’t attack them like she said she would.

Like Zuko learning to be a proper noble Fire Lord, Aang needing to be a peace keeper during the post-war era while rebuilding the Air nation, Toph wanting to spread the knowledge of metal bending to further prove herself to her parents, Katara & Sokka struggling how to balance modernity and cultural preservation within their tribe (already a comic about this) while also challenging their sexist views. New villains also wouldn't be impossible to introduce just because Ozai is already dealt with. The new antagonists could be extremists from the Water Tribe and Earth Kingdom who are very resentful about the war, loyalists of Ozai who are too used to being in a state of war and feel robbed of their victory, and Azula who would be a mental baggage for Zuko which could distract him from being a Fire Lord.
