    Thank you for your time in explaining. I’m 74 years old. Carpenter by trade and looking into doing some small metal work. Watching your video I had to subscribe to your channel. Thank you again… Bob

    The video would have been better if you would have shown the dial indicator from the top so that you could see the needle move as you passed the parts under it.

    Good video. Who is manufacturer on the first unit you used? I have come across one that looks like it but I can't see any markings on it. Thanks!

    What is the desk called?

      The desk, table is called a surface plate. It is granite.

    I used pinned gages anyone know what is the proper name.. We would take the part and place it on the gage pin it.. Check your feelers and trim

    Nice boat anchor no one has time to screw around a read a vernier scale anymore out here in the real world also the risk of reading error is real.

      I agree it is not a tool you are likely to see...I also wonder how many can't/won't be able to read a vernier scale.

      @@robc8468 I'm guessing that is mostly a joke but it would have been cool to see one in action. Then I can be like one and make anything except for money 💰

      @@machiningmoments we have some old vernier scale tools at General Electric aircraft engine assembly. Most of our job tests use the old stuff!
