I don't wonder why Indonesia's Jakarta airport top in this list because the nation itself is a big archipelago with a population of 270..6 million as of 2019. Indonesian islands are thousand of miles away or apart so air travel booms. So simple explanation.

PH is a big archipelago with a population of over 100 million compared to SG with one island and 5.6 million, so why NAIA is not ahead of Changi?? And on top of that, SG dont even have a domestic market.
That is the capacity when phase 2 achieved. Peak passenger pre covid just 11 million annually. KNO is not an international hub due to its location, more like final travel destination.
Mactan Airport is considered as the best airport in asia for under 5 million passengers. Still Changi international airport is the crown jewel of all airports and the best in the world. While Manila International airport is considered as the worst airport. Mactan is now the best airport here in the Philippines while MIA falls being the worst airport.

Changi is 100% international Bangkok Suvarnabhumi seems to have a larger proportion of international passengers (since domestic flights mostly handled by Don Mueang) compared to KLIA. There is SBZ in KL but mostly for light turbo props.

I think for malaysia is not accurate.. in sepang only they got TWO airport.. KLIA1 AND KLIA2.. so that is less accurate only 56m passanger.. it is more. And also klia1 and klua2 is so big.

fun fact: Survanabhumi airport is not located in Bangkok, it is in Samut Prakarn, which is a province just beside Bangkok.

yes, i live in prawet which borders samut prakarn (im pretty sure it does) so yea, its technically still bangkok airport.
Same case with Soekarno-Hatta airport, the airport is not located in Jakarta. But in Tangerang City, Banten province which is beside of Jakarta.
