Thank you!! I had no idea that this tool could do all this, and I've been looking for something for one of my projects that will do just this very thing! So awesome. Looking forward to more videos and tutorials!
Thank you very much ! I have a better understanding on how it works. Do you have content about Affinity tools on iPad ? I’m completely lost with the interface on iPad…
How do I get the handles back when they are gone? I have the problem that I can create it once, but after going more in detail with the panel settings, the handles are gone and won't come back again. I can click and create a new transparency, replacing the old one, but without any control of where I am (no magnetic positioning anymore, etc.)
HI, I've been trying to replicate the problem and have been unable to. I add a transparency, click to a different tool, click back on the transparency tool and the handles appear. Ensure that the picture with the transparency applied is selected. Sorry I can't be of more help.
What i struggle finding is a solid transparency for an image or a photo. It is easy with other objects but I can't find a way to make it work for the mentioned. What would you suggest in this case? I know there is a layer transparency, but is there another way? I am switching from InDesign, so I find this particular part a little bit of confusing.
Personally, I just use layer opacity for an all-over transparency. What tool are you using in InDesign? I have InDesign so if I can replicate what you are doing in InDesign then maybe I can find the corresponding solution in Affinity. That said, Publisher is still young so doesn't do everything InDesign does.
@@printablesacademyThank you for your swift reply. I really appreciate it. I have tried the layer transparency and quickly got used to it. I use Affinity version 2.4 at home and old Indesign CS6 at work. When I create an image frame and place a photo in it, Indesign offers quite an easy way to handle transparency. Right-click on the image to show options, then effects-transparency. The options window appears, which allows us to control transparency for the following: Object (Affects the entire object-its stroke, fill, and text), Fill (Affects only the object’s fill), Stroke (Affects only the object’s stroke), Text (Affects only the text). What I appreciate about this approach is that everything about transparency is in one place. The gradient transparency is the same though. The layer transparency in Publisher certainly does its job, I perhaps find it just a little bit confusing to set all this transparency in different places compared to InDesign. As you say, Publisher is still young and many improvements including the interface options are to be expected. I have another question. Sometimes I need to place one image to several ellipses, triangles, rectangles... In InDesign, this can be done via the main options: object-paths-create compound path. Do you know a way how to do this in Publisher?
Like on a laptop? On mine I just hold the left bottom corner that is like the left mouse button, and then with another finger swipe on the trackpad. Hope that makes sense.

Thank you. I don’t have anything on iPad yet but I have been playing around with it and figuring out how to film it well.

How do I do this with a trackpad?
