None of these would have a better ambient mode than the other. They are the same. Outlier Pro I've not tested to compare in afraid. But these earbuds sounded wicked non the less. Hope this helps.
I have one question! Can you listen to one of the pair as the other is charging in the case? And when your battery is done on the one, can you swap them and continue? That's the only thing I care after the sound quality. Thanks in advance!
You don't need to use both earbuds at once and can keep one in the case. However.... I have not tested the swap feature you're after so cannot comment. I assume.itll be fine because you're connecting both buds to the phone. I'll have to test this once I'm back in front of my desk.
