Thermals and Wind are by far the most important thing getting close to whitetails and you explain that very well in this video. Thanks again y'all!!

Great explanation makes sense how they use the terrain knowing what your area is doing through thermals throughout the year major pieces for successful hunt 🔥 info/vid

What no one ever explains is which is greater, thermals or wind. Obviously on a calm day this is all relevant but what about days with winds from 10-15mph (which is everyday on the Great Lakes) I’m pretty sure wind counteracts thermals after like 10mph at that point thermals don’t matter because the force of wind is greater

Ya but the wind dies at some point typically. There's not always 10-15 mph winds. And I literally live in a town on lake Michigan so don't tell me there is

Even if their is no wind, your thermals will always drop and follow a path like water. The path of least resistance

You should reread my comment. We all know when there’s no wind that’s what happens. The question was when there IS strong wind does it counteract the thermals

Yes. That’s when swirling happens. Deer know/feel/smell this and will bed accordingly.

Most of south eastern Ky is the Hardest area I’ve ever hunted due to say a strong south wind in a holler will be west. So many cross thermals and cross winds. That’s why the bucks get huge there. They usually live most of their life in a bowl with bench escapes.

@@JayN4GO I’ve never hunted it but I have family in Floyd county and wanted to try some early season bow hunting and late muzzleloader in the area
