Henry Townshend finds himself trapped in his apartment and the only escape is through a mysterious portal on his bathroom wall that leads to a horrifying alternate reality. With gruesome sights and monsters around every corner and his sanity being tested, he must find his way out of this nightmare.

@@Okhotnik.1I used to have subtitles turned on for everything a few years ago but I came to realise my attention was on the bottom quarter of the screen for the most part as a result, now I’m glad I’m able to play/watch something without needing them

This is the best hommage to a underrated gem, kudos dude, if someone ever dare to adapt this game into a live action movie, this video should be the exact script for it
i used to watch my uncle play a bunch of horror games when i was little. he’d ofc play resident evil & the first 2 silent hills & i’d watch in awe & fear lol. i remember when i was like 9, my uncle took me to gamestop to buy a ps2 & some games. we ended up finding not only silent hill 4, but silent hill 2 as well. we got both since the old silent hill 2 game we had got scratched, but we were really excited about the room. that night we stayed up alllllll night playing it. he made us a ton of chocolate chip cookies & we ate them all night while he played & i watched. i’ll never forget how terrified i was at the floating zombies in the subway lol & that weird two headed baby thing always freaked me out too. so many little noises in this game just reconnected me to my childhood & to the times my uncle & i would play stuff. thank you so very much for making this. it’s so beautifully done & i can tell that you care for the franchise like it was your own. despite this being a a horror game, i find it so beautiful & tragic. the music from the games still put me to sleep, and the stories made us emotionally attached to them in such a tragic way. i’ve cried during & after these games time & time again because they’re so... heart wrenching. so tragic & sad. you can’t help but get attached to characters like Lisa & James you know? i wish they would remake them or make new ones, but at the same time... i’m happy to play my old silent hill games in the old beautiful graphics they’re in. what konami gave us, redefined psychological horror forever. thank you so much for making this, it means a lot to me.
OMG MY UNCLE WAS THE ONE I WOULD WATCH PLAY SILENT HILL 2,3,4, PROJECT ZERO 1 & 4, RESIDENT EVIL CODE VERONICA, CLOCK TOWER 3, ETC. WHEN I WAS LITTLE!!!! thanks to him I fell in love with this series and all the horror stuff, I'm glad some one experienced the same thing as me lol I watched him play Silent Hill 2 and 3 literally hundreds of times, I remember he got to buy Silent Hill 3 literally 5 or 6 times because you know how the ps2 discs quality was, it's crazy to go back to this games once you grow up and understand everything better, also the graphics and artistic choices of Silent hill 3 keep driving me insane (my english is bad, I know, but I hope you understand everything haha)

Yeah I was dying to translate SH4 into a watchable format that captured everything from the actual playthrough including the story that was completely told through documents that had to be read. I'm really glad you liked it.

Thanks a lot! Yeah man, I just felt it was a real shame that this game had never been edited into a watchable "movie" format like all the other games have multiple times all over youtube. And I think it has a lot to do with the fact that it not only had THE most complicated and convoluted storyline in the franchise, but also had a story that was basically told ENTIRELY through documents that you had to actually sit through and read.
I've been a die hard fan of this franchise since I was a kid and it really bothered me that I couldn't really find a "movie" of Silent Hill 4, let alone one that would explain the story without making me have to do all that reading lmao Glad you enjoyed it.

I believe silent hill PT was heavily inspired by 4. The Fox engine would look beautiful remade in this game. Silent hill 4 will always be my favorite horror game. Everything about is just so mysterious and terrifying.
JayKay it’s my favorite right alongside 2. 1 and 3 didn’t touch on the extreme psychological fear that 2 and 4 did so I think that’s why I don’t like them as much. Plus 2 and 4 are literally normal people thrown into a situation that forces their sins to be in the open, which could happen to any of us. I miss the series, 4 was so underrated.
NotAnyone WorthRemembering also 4 was my first silent hill and literally everything about it screams terror. The sound, the atmosphere and the flipping ghosts man. And also they’re unkillable. It’s a masterpiece in its own wasy. Also I love the story behind Walter with little bits and pieces of background given about him. He’s a asshole but he just wants to go home to his mom. Sad story. If they ever decide to remake another silent hill I believe PT was it’s closest to 4 we were ever gonna get. Thanks mate for the reply back. Love silent hill and it’s touching score.

At minute 54, as Henry is reading what the previous renter wrote, and the movie shows the killings, I don’t know about you but when the killer looked up and saw the child, and as he walked up the stairs, with the ax hitting every step until you see the killer walking forward and the child walking backwards, for some reason that alone scared me more than any new horror movie out there! Good job!

If there's one thing Silent Hill games never fails to do is creep you out in its own style . I feel like The Evil Within games give a similair feel sometimes but could do better . Well done with this montage by the way ! Hah , those demons burping as they slide down the stairs . No manners at all !
Full gameplay was way too long to watch it like a movie, so I switched to this one which is a lot shorter in length but still has the complete taste, thanks a lot for your efforts!

40 mins in and incredible work man. I've never got to play this game mostly because i believed the bad reviews at the time but this seems like an awesome game. And I'm glad i could live vicariously through you because idk that i would have the patience to play it in today's mechanics standards. Thank you for this gem of an upload that i can enjoy before our beloved SH2 gets a remake next month.

It just got a bad rap because most of the story was told through documents you had to actually read and the ENTIRE second half of the game is literally spent revisiting and backtracking through all the locations you already went through in the first. It definitely had the most twisted storyline and was definitely the weirdest in the franchise, but I think the cinematic trailers were actually darker and creepier than the actual game itself lmao
Silent Hill 3 in my opinion, was the scariest and most suspenseful one, especially in terms of the atmosphere. It's the only one that made me jump several times and had me shitting bricks throughout the entire game.
However, Silent Hill 2 probably had the biggest emotional impact on me because of how beautifully sad and depressing the story was. I fell in love with that frickin game. The soundtrack was perfect, the characters were all nut-cases with serious childhood issues and I just liked how mysterious and psychological the game was.
Same here. This Silent Hill was so creepy and twisted. I can't imagine going to sleep and then waking up to find out that I'm locked inside my apartment from the inside.
This is simply fantastic. I love how you stylized brief clips of gameplay to add continuity to the cutscenes.
Edit: Only thing I would've requested, when you added voice overs to the notes, instead of a voice changer, if you used a (or your) real voice, and tried to make it sound like they do in the game (odd, surreal, almost dream-like).

I do, I've been a die hard fan of this franchise since I was a teenager.
I still laugh like an idiot during Cynthia's death. "Are you okay?" "Didn't get to give you that speshul favour hurrdhurr" and finally Henry placing her hand to cup her breast of all things. XD
SH4 was an incredibly strange game. Although I reckon they called it a Silent Hill to boost sales. This stood out most compared to other Silent Hill games. It was alluring and immersive but bad gameplay. Bad camera angles, controls, the UI. The monsters/ghosts were quite bland too. But the setting, apartment and music was good. The MC however lacked personality even Harry Mason had more life than Henry. It was a tedious game going back and forth in the holes. Was good to see the apartment slowly get cursed though. Kind of reminded me of 1408
And the movie the Cell... from which I think LIQUIDSNAKE took some clips from
Hey, the cursed ghosts scared the shit out of me. They're basically zombies with ghost powers. I can think of few things scarier than that.

This is so worthy of either a Japanese or Hollywood film, funny because internet celeb Egoraptor said it has that cool short film effect and the film closest to look like this today is 1408 by Stephen King based on his short story. Yeah Konami you gotta remake this game! Just fix the controls, but leave the story intact because it's beautifully written.

Love this style of game movie, it's unique as far as I can tell (using outside footage, editing scenes differently, etc.), and it's so wonderfully done. I watched this with my sister during my breaks at work and the only problem we had was that the horror bits had my sister queasy.

Whoever came up with the creature sound designs needed to be fired or checked. The lack of variety, constant use of lion sounds and the god awful burping noises when enemies get hurt. Sound designer could have put more effort.
Btw this movie is amazing man, great editing. Never got the chance to play it as a kid. Experiencing this as a movie was a real treat.

Maybe someone considers this Silent Hill like the saga's bastard for its history and especially for the mechanic of the ghosts, but for me, it was the most impactful videogame of all them... I feel that to have an antagonist like Walter Solivan was really perturbing, just imagine this creepy man following you everywhere, always waiting the exact moment to kill you, always making you feel unsafe. The other point is the ghosts, it's a new and fresh air for the saga, i felt more horror every time when appears the cinematic whit everyone of these enemies. And the last one, I love the feeling claustrophobic that the apartment produces you, been in the first's view it makes you really feel like if you were inside the game.

Yeah man, it basically was a love letter to any fans of the game that have been dying to see SH4 in a watchable format. This is the ONLY Silent Hill game that doesn't have like a million "movies" of it on youtube, Most likely because the *ENTIRE* story is told through documents that you have to actually read, which is a real shame considering how cool the story is. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
The footage at 54:45 is from a combination of two different movies: "Holloween" and some horror movie called "Dread."
Hello quick question! I recently got an emulator to play old PS2 horror games and Silent Hill 4 was the first i replayed after never beating it in 12+ years lol. What are you using to give these nice 4k ingame textures? i'm using retroarch is there another emulator that has a collection of games that can give them really good updates like this?
I was expecting to hear the voices of Walters Dad "The process of them, mother an father abandoning Walter" in the final section of the game from when ya click the bound hanging Walters clones. None the less, a great edit an watch!
