Its my 1st Kilkerran16, already in my cabinet. So happy i could afford it, £75 and as a bourbon cask fan so happy that bourbon still dominates. I like sherry in small proprtion or just finishing in it when sherry give exrta factor some funk or makes whisky more complex. IMHO there is to much hipe with sherry, expressions are too similar, loose character, are too sweet and became pop drinks. Most sherry whiskies are overwhelmig, boring and most times overpriced. As we know you're big sherry fan so this year edition is special bonus from Kilkerran to you. Happy you enjoy it and cheers for this review. Nice to watch you as always. Slàinte 😁🥃🙋♂️
Hello Alan. I opened my 2022 Kilkerran 16 back in January this year, and it is now 1/3 way down of the bottle. I must say this is now fantastic, 10 times better than when I opened it 6 month ago. Cheers from Canada 🥃
You absolutely nailed the tasting notes Alan drinking it and watching the review at the same time
By far the best of the 3 batches for me.... Cheers for dropping by sir
No need to say that a) I love Kilkerran an b) have nof yet been able to try this one.
Thanks for reviewing, Alan.
If I can lay my hand on it, I definately will give it a try.
Slàinte mhath

Great review Alan! Going to open mine this weekend! I noticed they changed the label slightly too which is odd. Light blue has replaced the black. Lovely stuff, Cheers!
As I have a 16 on its way, I really hope its good!. But this is the last price hike I can absorb.
Hi Alan
Still got a bottle of Kilkerran 16yr 2021 release unopened, not got the new 2022 release yet
I'll rectify that shortly. I love Kilkerran can't get enough slainte
You need to get this one Robert... Its the best of the 3 for me my friend, sorry for late reply, been away on hols fella
Great review!
I managed to finally grab two bottles before everywhere sold out and at £69 ea …. I have seen it for sale online at £130 ea . Crazy money
Hello Alan,
I Loved Kilkerran from the Start , but unfortunately the Prices are too much for me.
(180€ for this Batch3 at Time of this Comment) .
The 12 was fair priced (60€) but now its also rocketing.
I stay with the heavily Peated which is still affordable.
Thanks for this Video and your Opinion about this Bottle
Hi Alan. It is such fun hearing you find all these smells and tastes in the whisky. What I want to know is where I can lay my hands on a toffee pie. This would be one hell of a treat, but where can I get it? Alan I’m pulling your leg, let’s have more of these extreme descriptions. Here’s a suggestion, a licorice and coal tar gob stopper. It is what I’m getting from my Antiquary Red Wine Bordeaux cask with a teaspoon of James Eadie 12 Auchroiskw to boost it up. I was going to add beat that, but that made me wonder if you’ve ever found beetroot in a whisky?
Hey Michael I am in Turkey right now fella... I can bring you some toffee pie back if you like fella.... Lol... Thanks for dropping in buddy.... Cheers
Alan, my mistake it isn’t the JameEadie I teaspooned, it is the Finlaggan cask Strength I added to the Antiquary. Great combo. We should all be running these experiments to seek out the magic blend. Whisky can be great fun.
Last year ‘s was 72 euros here in Italy and I must say that as a bourbon fan, I really enjoyed it. Sadly the prices are too high this year . But I appreciate the review and your insight. Kindest regards as always. Ciao 👋 S.
Too much money Sandro and it's a feal shams Sandro... Ciao and doonthehatch my friend...
Love your video all away from California. Down the hatch.
Doonthehatch fella
Alan what is the dates you have on this year's bottle and last year's? I have a line on some bottles and am trying to decide.
Slaintė
The 2021 version in Arizona USA was $160 including tax…I’d gladly pay only 70£ for the ‘22
The price of everything right now is insane. Really inhibits the experience.
Tell me about it... Lol... Cheers
Hi Alan, another great review. I love Kilkerran, but have to say I was a little underwhelmed by this one. Ive only had a couple of drams so it may well grow on me but I felt it lost much of the Kilkerran identity in the taste. I will revisit though ....
Best of the 3 for me this one Allister, but I get what you mean... Awesome stuff fella...
I think you like it 😀
Gav this was going to be my whisky of the year for most of the year and it was only pipped on the last week with the Bunnahabhain cask strength fella...its wonderful whisky Gav...cheers my friend
For me the pricing in the US are getting out of hand. In my area these just came in and they're $150 USD all in. I'm going to get it to cover the itch but after this I may be done. Scotch pricing for higher age stated whiskys are just getting out of hand here in the US.
Let the hunt begin. Not sure if I'll be successful on this one as it is fairly rare to come across out here, Cheers All!
I'm from the states. Literally had to go to Scotland to get my hands on a bottle lol 🕵♂
