Very pleased to listen to your posts and when it comes to this Kilkerran 12, how right you were. An absolutely superb 12y/o and one to savour. In fact, I rate it above the Springbank 10 for all round mouth feel, taste and finish. Now, where’s my Glencadam 10 for another mini comparison?
Glencadam 10 is getting better my friend and kk12 is getting tougher to get.. So maybe Glencadam could be an alternative... But wait a minute what about Arran 10 or Ledaig 10...so much good stuff around... Cheers buddy
I saw it on the shelf just the other evening... I got distracted by a Bunnahabhain Toiteach a Dha and one of the last few remaining bottles of Highland Park Dark Origins... Maybe next week I will pull the trigger again like I did last year. That first bottle I had evaporated immediately :)
I’ve gone through two bottles of Kilkerran 12 and will be getting two more along with some Longrow soon.

Alan, just managed to get a Kilkerran 12 from MofM and lucky enough to have the Ledaig 10 & Arran 10 as you suggest. All excellent whiskies and hard to separate in tests - that’s your job, oh lucky man!

Havent been able to find Kilkerran, Hazelburn, Longrow, or Glen Scotia in my area. I will keep looking and asking my shops. Great review 👍

Sounded great. I have not brought this bottle home. How would you compare this to Glengoyne 12? I can't find this in my area, but Glengoyne just poped up. Thoughts?
This is very different to the Glengoyne Jon the GG12 is all sherry. plum dates figs etc my friend and the kk12 is bourbon casks..honey toffee lemon citrus serial notes but both wonderful...cheers fella let me know if you pull the trigger...Alan

Just purchased the Kilkerran 8 sherry, tried a few drams. Fantastic whisky.

Just bought a bottle on your recommendation. Fabulous dram. Complex is an understatement! Ever so slightly peated, (compared to the more iconic offerings). A very affordable whiskey worthy of belonging with any of it's more expensive cousins.

Great review Alan, just picked up this 12 year old today, like hens teeth here in Ireland. I see a print on the bottle dated 10/01/19 does this mean it's a 2019 botteling and in your opinion is one year better than another?
Yes it does Kevin however I have had many bottles of it and find it to be really consistent.... Enjoy and thanks for dropping bye my friend...

Another great review Alan! Thanks. I am a super fan of all Campbeltown whiskies, and have many bottles from all of the Campbeltown producers. I still have 2 unopened bottles of this Kilkerran 12 yo - and I am happy to hear your thoughts on it.

After all the hype and great reviews by you and others I thought I would buy a bottle...
After the first few drams I was regretting buying it, initial description would have been it's like mixing/diluting an oily phenolic malt like ledaig or caol lla with something generic, nothing special and not something I would be choosing first. The bottle has been open for a few weeks now and it's transformed, now I am getting it 🍷🍷🍷
Hang in there Trevor... Its awesome fella... However it's whisky... Sometimes it clicks straight of and sometimes it takes a little longer my friend.... I'm sure you will come to love this one....
