Thank u for this video! U just helped figure out what the correct name for heater hoses. Now i can purchase part. God bless and keep your channel going Very through!
Thanks for the video Mathew. My wife's 2015 Chevy Sonic 1.4L turbo. It looks pretty similar to this. how much of the Engine did you have to dismantle to get access to do this replacement? Thanks for posting this video.
You are welcome. I try to help what I can and I don't do as many repair videos of like because I've seen a lot of them that I've done that aren't necessarily the right way to do it. I didn't really have to take very much out to do this repair honestly because I wasn't much in my way to do it but it depends on what you're replacing or repairing which is the deciding factor and how much and what you take off in the process of your repair. I did take the intercooler pipe to the throttle body off and set it aside so I had more room and that was pretty much about it. The other hose that is the y shape that goes to the coolant reservoir and the water pump was pretty easy to do minus that clamp at the water pump can be kind of a pain in the butt but it isn't too bad though.
@@matthewlobberecht6187 man thanks for the detailed response! It's super helpful. I'm not very automotive inclined so this is a pretty big job for me. Your insight is very valuable. The Mechanic is quoting us $1800 to replace the following; Condenser hose Heater outlet hose Heater inlet hose Heater outlet hose Radiator surge tank outlet hose (no idea what this is) Various Inlet outlet hose connectors And an R134A fill up Crazy money. I quoted the parts up in Rock Auto and it's like 10x cheaper if I do this myself. Nice to know this didn't take too much to dismantle. Thinking about doing a video of myself on this adventure. Cheers man!
@@matthewlobberecht6187i want to thank you for this video it has helped me know what the correct names of the hoses...I was wandering what I should do because the part that looks like the T/Y is leaking where the silver U shaped clamp is and I was trying to find out if maybe there is an gasket or an O-ring that may be bad and that us why it is leaking or is the T/y part that needs to be changed..I don't think any of the hoses are leaking..it is only leaking where the clamp is..any suggestions?

You are very welcome. I will do that and add to it as I do projects:)
For the long hose on top do I need to drain coolant to replace?
Hello, the Y hose goes to the coolant container or to the engine? The right side, i detatch both hoses😢
57169 was so loose it wobbled like a universal joint wouldn't seal for me at all. The other worked fine.

@@ShawnyDsMusic you are very welcome. They guoted $1800 for a simple hose replacement???
@@matthewlobberecht6187 yeah. It is insane .That is why I'm digging into it further. I think I can do this myself.
@@ShawnyDsMusic yeah you should be able to do it yourself it's pretty easy. So I would do that and save you a lot of money
What is the hose part called that Ys off. It comes from bottom of resivior and goes to bottom firewall and over to the valve
You are talking about the one with t fitting with the three lines on it right?
@matthewlobberecht6187 yes it look like a Y or T.
@matthewlobberecht6187 the whole 3 hoses and T or Y. Y has crack in it. But could be hoses too
@@jbuck1975 that's the vacuum pump hose

Does that 51619 go to the water outlet valve?
If it was the shorter hose than yes
The y hose goes to the coolant container ? @@matthewlobberecht6187
I learned nothing, it would help if the hoses were off and we saw the part of the engine...😢
