This film inspired me to go to karate. I trained like crazy every day. That was 28 years ago, when I was 15 years old. Now my son likes the movie, he is 12😊
Growing up watching this. Brings back a lot of childhood memories. Van damme played his role superbly as a villain and his martial arts skills were crazy and raw.
I have often thought that Van Damme would be better if he was cast as a villian in movies rather than the hero. While he may be a good guy in real life. I just think he would do a better job as a villian in acting roles.
@@jakelam5089 It's an amazing irony how actors playing villains tend to be the nicest and classiest family oriented people around, while those who play the good guys tend to be major league prima donnas with extensive track records of controversies (divorce, child custody battles, domestic / substance abuse, DUI, political ideology, etc..).

I really enjoyed this movie in the 1980s as a preteen even with the less-than-stellar acting. That final fight scene is one of the most underappreciated fight choreography in all of martial arts film history. One concern though, was there was not enough money in the filming budget for makeup to make phony facial swellings and fake blood?
