Wow! That really gets it done! It's like a tiller and aerator all in one. Very cool demonstration, Tony! Thanks for sharing! 👍😎 On a side note, the gophers are out here....maybe it'll take them out too.
LOVE TO YOU TONY AND TANYA AND GIZMO, REALLY LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS KEEP THEM COMING, I CAN WATCH YOUR VIDEOS ALL DAY , ALL THE VERY BEST TO YOU AND YOUR LOVELY WIFE AND OF COURSE BEAUTIFUL GIZMO, I'VE LEARNED A LOT FROM WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS.
That looks like a VERY "Well Built" fine piece of machinery. A good "idea" for the company to "through-in" the 5$ sight-glass & dip-stick accommodations. That is a very "prestigious" adjutable flow-gate-guard chamber. On my 5year old 50 hour 60" 1500.°°$ "country-pride" ( kind of entry-level) tiller that has werked flawlessly.... with ONE Exception the back "flow-gate-guard ' is pure "rinky-dink" & twist-o-flexed up! It NEEDS to get "rebuilt-reinforced-recalibrated", because like you say& l know it's SO IMPORTANT to have this gate "Working Properly & Safely ". It can be "converted" to reverse rotation; but never have. The tines are 25% used up( but seem to be self-sharpening) & performance has droped off accordingly. It IS TRUE "you only get what you pay for". A SLIP-clutch is SO IMPORTANT to have; & adjusted properly to protect the tractors driveline & total equipment package. That was an Excellent Profomance Demonstration. Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio and happy safe tractoring. Best wishes with all your endeavours.
The tiller does a beautiful job. You are very fortunate to have soil with no stones in it. I would love to see how this would operate in soil with stones in it.
@@TonysTractorAdventure it’s just great watching you and your wife making a live and showing people how to do it. As always all the best and many thanks for getting back to me so quickly always God bless you all .
This is exactly what I was looking into. I'm buying a TYM T574HC in about 4 weeks, and looking for a good tiller to use behind it. Price seems pretty competitive as well. Thanks for posting.
We just bought one of those tractors a couple of months ago. You're gonna love it! Again, it was a lot of info I got from Tony's channel that drove that purchase also.
A reverse rotation tiller works great in soil that has already been tilled, its also fine in un-prepped soil if you don't have issues with rocks. They dig deeper and don't push the tractor forward like a forward rotation tiller does. You don't get the hopping and skipping that those forward rotation tills do when they can't dig into the hard compacted soil. I have a Landpride 50" RTR0550 reverse rotation tiller, first pass shallow, 2nd pass full depth and done. Leave a very smooth fine soil bed behind it. Even tilling up sod is very easy and quick.
I have to say that I'm not a fan of the reverse rotation. I like the results, but after using a Landpride version, I found they dig really deep, really fast, and I'm not a fan of the build-up in front of the tiller. I am becoming a fan of the IC attachments, but in this case, I hope they offer a forward rotation as well.
Anyone else here remember breaking ground with the old walk-behind tillers? Those were the days I don't miss. Definitely not a candidate for reverse rotation though LOL.
I haven't gotten a tiller yet, looking to do so next spring. I watched a reverse vs forward side by side comparison on Tim's channel. Their conclusion was that the reverse did till slightly better tilling, but drug so much trash material with it that it was a little bit of a hassle dealing with it. I didn't notice too much trash material being drug along by you in this video though. I have a 35 HP hydro tractor with 30 PTO HP. Do you feel I would be better off going with a reverse or forward tine tiller for it? 🚜
It certainly produces a very fine till in your soil, great for germination, but it will disrupt the soil biome and increase the tendency to wash out. Horses for courses though, great for some not so much for others.
the first tiller i ever bought was a reverse till landpride and i hated it it digs to deep especially after multiple passes and just leaves to many lines in the garden plus if u hit something buried it will throw the object into the top of the tiller poking a hole in the top of it guess how i know that. so i sold it as quick as i could and got a forward till king kutter and it does a way better job it doesnt dig so deep and leaves a way nicer finish in the garden plus if i hit something buried it just hops over it causing no damage
Nice video! What is your PTO hp? This looks like too much tiller for my tractor; it is a Kioti DK4520 with 45 hp & just a tick over 40 hp at the PTO. It's manual gear drive so there's bit more power than a same sized hydrostatic unit. Thank you.
Your tractor would do as well as mine. Please understand that this is an extremely difficult tilling situation. I was burying the tiller completely because of how many times It had already been tilled. Later I tried the tiller in new ground and it did much better.
Recently I purchased a Kioti DKS 4720 tractor with a bucket and a backhoe. I’ve been watching your shows. This is what I need. Would my tractor fit this Baumalit flail mower? I notice you have a grapple on your tractor. Would I need one to use the mower? If I were to purchase this mower how would I transport it?
Try moving forward as you are dropping it to avoid creating a trench at the edges of the garden. You'll thank me next time you have to mow or do this again.
Definitely you are a city farmer!!! A farmer would not pick up the equipment but turn and go down one row and across to another and go down the other!!!! No time for all the up and down but your plot is so small a hand machine would be as practical!!!!
A 3 point tiller is definitely on our short list. Thanks for the informative video.
You bet. A tiller, mower, and box blade will change your life on the rear. Forks and a grapple with change your life on the front!
@@TonysTractorAdventurebox blade pr land leveler? Which one I should choose???
That looks amazing! I live in northern New Hampshire. I have boulders and ledge about an inch under the soil. I am envious of your terrain. 😊

I learned a lot about using this tiller?

I don't recommend tilling stones. LOL! Sorry, too easy.
Pretty amazing tilter great video thanks Tony and Tanya and Gizmo

Awesome stuff, as always, it sure looks like it is built like a tank. it definitely did a great job on that hard clay

I have walked miles behind a garden tiller.
63 years old - I remember it well……

Gizmo loves the fresh dirt.
He does love the cool dirt on the got days. He doesn't like bugs either. He likes the dirt for that reason too.
Nice.

I was not able to find a U860 model on Ironcraft’s website. Do you have a direct link you could share? Thanks, Tim in Oneida

I don't see a reverse rotation tiller on their Web site??

Your tractor would do fine with the flail mower. I love my grapple, but it is not required for mowing.
Reverse tine takes more HP. They do great work.
You are correct.
You do realize the 3 point lever is adjustable for depth.

Did you say the tractor was 50HP?
It is 48hp

Thank you for your opinion.
You’re digging too deep to start with
It seems we agree. I mentioned that in the video.
