The story of what happened to that Strat Bob Dylan played that day is amazing, or cool/strange/etc...depends on how you think of it. PBS did a special on it if anyone wants to see the story, it is pretty cool.
i lived in a small town near altamont speedway called Tracy and went to the concert and we got close to the front but when the hells angels started beating up some of the people we moved back far enough to keep out of it but still see the shows, i didn't know what was really going on up front but i could see Mick and Keith stopping the show and yelling for everyone to calm down it wasn't until the next day at home when i found out that someone was killed by the hells angels. other than that it was a great show with a lot of great bands.
I was at the Isle of Wight festival in august 1970, I fell asleep before Hendrix came on. ( Cider not drugs) He died in September so I never heard him live.
I was right by the “stage” at the Barbecue ‘67’ in Spalding tulip bulb Hall on August Bank Holiday Monday to hear Pink Floyd, The Move, Geno Washington, Zoot Money, Sounds Force Five, Cream, and finally Jimi Hendrix Experience! An absolutely incredible 10+ hours for the princely sum of £1……There were 10,000 of us. Few will have forgotten that day and millions would have wished they had been there.
The Monterey Pop Festival (1967) Performers: The Association, Johnny Rivers, Eric Burdon and the Animals, Simon & Garfunkel, Canned Heat, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Steve Miller Band, The Byrds, Jefferson Airplane, Otis Redding, Buffalo Springfield, The Who, Grateful Dead, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Mamas & the Papas, et al
FYI Nirvanas always hated the term Grunge and they are more of a rebellious punk rock band as any of their fans would tell you! More in common with Mudhoney and the Melvins than anything other band from their area of course!
Led Zeppelin at Knebworth park in 1978 /79 They played two Saturdays in a row & I missed both due to being on holiday. I live 10 minutes away & thought I will see them next time, sadly there was never a next time. With John Bonham. Always wanted to see them sadly they are one group that got away.
Of course Nirvana was doing a different and non-electric set. It was MTV’s Unplugged. And please: do your homework on The Wall live in Berlin part. You mixed up visuals and band members in your story.

What about Led Zeppelin's 77 Pontiac show ? That show held the record for the largest indoor concert ever held by a single act for years.
Instead of Newport 1965 I would have included Bob Dylan's 1966 Manchester concert when a fan yelled " Judas! ".
The monsters of rock. Concert. In Russia Pantara Metallica ... Was massive.

I was on too much acid at that concert.
