My Dad and Gramps used to take me metal detecting in church yards and around old foundations. I have a ring with a 4 carat deep pink Brazilian tourmaline with diamonds on each side. My jeweler educated me that it was mine cut, must have been owned by a very well to do Watch Hill family, and to never let go of it. Watch Hill is a mansion filled seaside town in RI. A Watch Hill church yard is where we found it. I love the history that is attached to old jewelry. I am receiving the Juliana reference book today to really educate myself. The suspense of its arrival is killing me. Once again thank you for sharing your passion.

The store you went to has amazing prices! I was shocked at what they were asking for some really high-end items. Even after conversion rates ( USD to aud) the prices are still really great!

Oh, my... I always look through jewellery in thrift stores, and once, I spotted something in the very bottom of a box... And down there, between plastic pearls and ruste chains, I found a large, dark green, trillion cut gemstone.... I can't remember the name 🙄 But I bought it for next to nothing, litterally! That is also going in a custom piece, along with some small, bargain diamonds, and other gems 😂 You could consider having a solitaire pendant made from the larger Diamond? Or, I would actually look for a couple more coloured gems to add instead, and mix in some blue and green 😊

I have a question with another find. I have an Italian bracelet, 14k with almost 15 grams gold. I was thinking also to keep it in the family in case worst times come, but how can I know the real value of it? I think it was made in the 80s and it has the makers mark with the star at the beginning. Does anyone knows if there is a list of Italian jewelers anywhere? Thanks for your help!

Hi, from the UK! I think I spotted French hallmarks on the bangle with the blue enamel, and the chunky earrings definitely look like Israeli electroformed silver to me.
The earrings reminded me of hagit gorali, but their hallmark is “HG”.

That ring did not appear to be rose gold overlay on my screen. It looked like yellowsgold. Lovely either way.
