It shows a woman can compose. Like Marie Cassatt and Berthe Morrisotte and Georgia O,Keefe could paint. She combined the best of the expressive side of Debussy, Ravel and Satie. Tres belle, Germaine.
Berthe Morisot. ; -)
Having listened several times to this expressive composition, I seem to hear Asian as well as Spanish influences. Comme j'ai dite avant: Tres Belle, Germaine.
Beautiful, strongly invokes harp music from the South American Andes...
Stunning, wistful music.
The syncopation is prodigious.
Beautiful music!
Not a Fandango however, but
A Bolero.....
How so? What are the differences between the two?
Felicitaciones por la apreciación. Hace tiempo que escuché esta pieza y, claro, me dije... Bolero. Había que escribirlo, sin embargo. Aparte, muy linda y... Con el exotismo de... Perú.
@@alexscott1257 Bolero rythm is an ancient air from Spain. This is, like, here nicknamed "Fandango", also a dance from spanish colonies from America. His rythm characteristic is similar to polonaise. I recomend you, for a curious example, to hear Chopin's bolero.
Where can i find the score to this?
It's gorgeus!
Try Musik Fabrik. If not, ask Paul Wehage as to where to acquire it.. Let me know if it works out.
Very nice. But isn't it Nicole Narboni ?

This is a bolero, not a fandango!
Exactly, this has a logical explanation;...and it's not Tailleferre's fault....More later.

I like that is doesn't sound remotely Spanish. Not that I dislike the Spanish...
Nathaniel Wilson I Igree with you. For me it sounds like Peruvian music. Beautiful anyway.
I don't really have an idea of what Peruvian music sounds like beyond that stereotyped panflute music so that's a very interesting comment.
I understand exactly what you mean. It's curious isn't it?
Yes, but it happens a lot. For instace, in Hollywood films, many times they play Mexican style music, pretending it's spanish music
Yes it sound very guitaristic there is clearly something spanish in the composition ;)
