If the jet lag boys see this, my idea to solve the small station situation is as follows: Add a rule that if (for example) Ben and Sam are in the station looking for adam, and adam knows he has no way out, then if adam can swoop around them and tag THEM on the shoulder without getting spotted and that puts them in a freese/jail period again. High risk high reward, last ditch effort type of situation. (and if nothing else it speeds up the inevitable catch lol) Great pod everyone!! I loved hearing all of your thoughts
It is, and realistically he's right. It's still random. But the intangibles that are momentum and luck are a weird thing, and I think that's what most of us keyed on. It doesn't make sense to, but we do it anyway.
It was funny AF. That said, I know in middle school I learned how to flip a coin to what I wanted with a particular force - not Adam's cheating way - with it flipping thrice in the air. I got it down about 80% of the time, so it's definitely trainable.
The explicit statement that it had to be a RANDOM coin flip was the missing piece for me!! I was like "why didn't he just figure out how to do it the same way every time" but it was so he wouldn't cheat! I get it now. He made the right decision.
@@pasttenseroyalty I believe you're overthinking the wording. The way Adam described it, the intent of saying "random" was to ensure that it was a proper tossed coin flip as opposed to putting a coin on a table and flipping it over.
About the map discussion, a Tag game across NYC or London would be a more action-packed map with quicker rounds and someone who might actually reach their end destination. Just a city-scaled game in general. Maybe the 3 NY Airports as end destinations...none of which are accessible by a single train or bus from Manhattan I think.
As a woman, "he might steal my phone" is pretty low on my list of reasons why I'm not following the random stranger in a foreign country into their apartment.
I feel so vindicated by Adam's coin flip rant. I argue with so many people on the subreddit that the challenge called "get lucky" was about getting lucky and not about skillfully flipping the coin Apparently Adam (one of the card creator) not trying to do it by skill was not enough proof, hopefully his rant will convinced them
Well I'm late, but I do have two ideas for Adam. One is simple - run. Both Adam and Sam are runners. Pick somewhere to go that doesn't lend itself to other transport, and try to run to another station or just drag things out till you have a chance. Second, and we've seen this before, the trackers work much less well in crowded places, and depending on where you are there can still be crowds in rural areas. Try to get lost in a crowd or multi-level area and juke.
Thanks so much for this. I really enjoyed all of your interactions and getting some background information about what goes into making and competing in Tag. I could have listened to you all for hours.
1:25:50 Kind of reminds me of Tom Scott's old video "Breaking the News" from about 15 years ago because they had a separate camera person also following them - it was just one video filmed on a single day, not any kind of series, but Tom and Matt vs'd each other running around London one day trying to get into the background of as many newscasts as possible. Matt used a car and Tom used public transit. Thinking about it now, that video definitely feels very Jet Lag-like, in particular the challenges like the ones in New Zealand when the two teams were racing to complete the same challenge in the same town, like the "destroy 5 rings at 5 volcanos" one.
@screwaccountnames Tom Scott has done three race/chase games on the Plus channel, two with airtags and one with the Jet Lag crew. And the Jet Lag team have also been on Lateral a few times.
Maybe it's just because I'm older, but Matt and Tom Break the News didn't remind me of Jet Lag at all. It reminded me of Top Gear. The setup and the pacing and the narration definitely felt that way, and the setup of the challenge did as well, where it was way less about "who's going to win this challenge" and more about "here's a couple of friends doing something ridiculous and the challenge is just set dressing" In Jet Lag, the goofing around is secondary to winning whatever the challenge is. In Top Gear, winning whatever the challenge is is secondary to the goofing around.
I loved all three seasons of Tag so far. What I would love to see is the runner using the disable tracker option at some point. I don't think it was ever used before.
One idea that might help the small town, is that in certain circumstances the runner can spend some coins to pause the tracker (like when they are off a train with only one train station within 2 miles they are allowed to pause the tracker for 10-15 min, provided they wait in one spot for 5 min before the pause starts (chasers don't know that they are pausing the tracker until the pause starts)) Quick not fully thought out idea.
Jet Lag Hide and Seek and Tag and probably the best ones to do multiple times in different areas. Even completely the same with just a different location.
I feel like the 10/15 minute freeze is the logical tool for the small town situation, but it has to be used SO strategically and I'm not sure that's enough time anyway.
Adam talks about people only can understand certain percentages, highly likely, highly unlikely, and 50/50. He is completely right, but I always try to remind myself if something has a 70% chance, that is equal to a very good baseball player not getting a hit at the plate. Yes it happens most of the time, but he gets his fair share of hits. I think about that more often at the poker table so i don't flip the table when i get sucked out on, lol.
Watched the first 7min and all they talk about is Big Brother. Sorry, but I couldn't care less. Was here for the Jet Lag content but am already too annoyed to continue

I've always wanted some kind of option to tag the chasers!
Adam saying "you're sick nasty" is the only crossover content I've ever needed
Adams rant about "the rhytm" is the most hilarious thing ever 😂😂
It is, and realistically he's right. It's still random. But the intangibles that are momentum and luck are a weird thing, and I think that's what most of us keyed on. It doesn't make sense to, but we do it anyway.
Sam and Ben's faces were the best during it.
It was funny AF.

Thanks again for bringing us more Jetlag coverage. So interested in hearing what Sam, Ben and Adam have to say about Tag3
As a woman, "he might steal my phone" is pretty low on my list of reasons why I'm not following the random stranger in a foreign country into their apartment.
It's a good thing women weren't included in that particular discussion then
PLEASE more Jet Lag coverage! Even though Tag is my least favourite format, I still like to listen to these guys!!!
i never comment but i would LOVE a long deep dive for every season of jet lag
Love Adam’s shout out for Dropout’s hit show Game changer!! Fans of jet lag & survivor would definitely like it.
I love seeing Taran interview the guys from Jet Lag. Such great content!

Yay! More Jet lag coverage, please. Also, “Day 84” does sound like dystopia. But I also really like everything Charlie Brooker has done.

I think Tom Scott would actually make an amazing guest on Jet Lag.
@@screwaccountnames Tom and Sam is i think the most stubborn and anxiety ridden duo God could ever conceive of and I need to see it

Ben missing his train hurt so much for him
I loved all three seasons of Tag so far. What I would love to see is the runner using the disable tracker option at some point. I don't think it was ever used before.
Love the jet lag coverage!!!
Adam seeing every episode of game changer is so funny to me, as I found them through dirty laundry, and, well have become a tad obsessed with jet lag
Adam is dead on with the Rome/Daveed Diggs comparison.
That already exists called tracker off not sure but I think it is 1000-2000 coins
This idea is already in the game.
love the Rob has a Jet Lag content! I would love to see a survivor collab somehow, maybe one of them applies
Yes! Thank you for bringing this back
Yesssss! Ya love to see more Jet Lag!!
Thanks for the coverage!!
the thing that's great about Euro Tag is that it's a game show, but secretly it's also a Jason Bourne Movie.
Jet Lag Hide and Seek and Tag and probably the best ones to do multiple times in different areas. Even completely the same with just a different location.
You just completely dissregarded Bus routes... There are so many express busses you could have used...
That is why they aren't allowed to use intercity busses. It would make the runner very very hard to catch, which wouldn't make good content.
Please do a game in the uk.
I feel like the 10/15 minute freeze is the logical tool for the small town situation, but it has to be used SO strategically and I'm not sure that's enough time anyway.
I’ve been waiting for this forverrr
Damn. Would so love to run into these folks in Japan. Would have been amazing!
So excited for this
loved this!
Adam reminds me that Daveed Diggs is famous from Hamilton more than clipping.
Tag around Australia where it's flight based where propellor planes had cheaper prices would be interesting
34:51 I agree it is always about people's TONE.
I'm curious if Tag would be possible in India or China, but I imagine they have their own challenges.
They called me out right at the very end xD
We need Ben and Akiva on a podcast together.
I love how similar this is to the layover - or at least how the first 10-20% is just random rambling.
I get why it doesn't really happen but I would love if they have flights in there too.

maybe the region they were referring to is china? The cities are at least kinda spread out and there would be enough public transport to make it work?
Tag across China would be amazing, but I don’t see it happening for reasons beyond any gameplay related issues
I was guessing China, and I can see why they wouldn't want to mention it publicly
Oh my God this is wendover productions I don't watch jet lag but I love this guy you can say his videos are half as interesting
Love this! Season 3 was great minus Sam winning lol
tag across London 👀
We need Taran on jet lag!!
Ayyyyyyyy
If we can count Ben's vinegar as a pickle, then we can count Joe Biden giving him the key to the city as a trophy!
Sasha was gone recently and they were also filming season 12 recently hmmmmm I wonder
Anyone who would like to intuitively understand odds needs to play XCOM.
I think tag would work in China
Peak
Watched the first 7min and all they talk about is Big Brother. Sorry, but I couldn't care less. Was here for the Jet Lag content but am already too annoyed to continue
You should keep watching. After that they talk about Jet Lag and there a LOT of funny bits.
I don't know why but for me Tag 3 is much worse than previous ones
I feel like if someone wins on the first run, they give each person a chance to beat that time or something. @jetlagthgame
