Yeah! Kwik Trip! Whenever we are on a road trip, we stop there on the way out of the state and it’s usually the first stop on our way back in to Wisconsin

The pro tip for Casey’s is to put ice in your bottle then take it to the likely-stoned pizza dude and ask him to fill you up from their sink in the pizza kitchen.
My pick’s as a serious traveler QT’, Casey’s, Loaf & Jug, Maverick. Seating is an issue everywhere - (even a cement bench.) Carry one of those weird folding triangle travel chairs. Happy Travels.

As a fellow gas station cyclist and a HUGE Sheetz fan, I'm just popping in to say Sheetz has indoor seating, self checkout, made to order food that is better than most fast food joints, AND they even have endurance fuel for cyclists like Honey Stinger Waffles that are perfect for eating on the bike... I demand a rescore.
I mostly agree, but none of my local sheetz' have anywhere safe to put your bike. No racks, no places to stow out of sight, and I got yelled at for trying to put my bike in the little airlock section between the two sets of double doors
What do you do with your bikes/gear while you're in the gas stations? Do you carry locks, leave one person outside to watch, or just roll the dice and hope they don't get stolen? I don't normally carry a lock on mine, so I typically only go to places that don't care if I bring my bike inside with me, but I got yelled at at a Sheetz for even trying, so I've written them off my list of safe places to go while touring
I've been to a Buc-ee's. Wasn't impressed. I seriously think it's way over-hyped. They have hundreds of different drinks - yeah, but at the end of the day, I know what I want, and it's a drink I can get an any gas station in the US. Even my wife who practically peed her pants when we stopped there because she had been seeing Tik Tok videos about this place for months and was nuts about the idea of going there walked in and grabbed a diet coke. They have a lot food - yep, and I can get any of that food at the next town, and it wasn't anything special. Sandwiches, doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, jerky, are all things I can get at any gas station. The only thing I saw there that I don't usually see is brisket sandwiches, which honestly is the last thing I want to eat when driving for 8 hours. They have a lot of snacks - yep, and just about everything they have is, again, available at just about any gas station. They have a few snacks that are exclusive to them, but nothing to get excited about. With Buc-ees, if you take away the food and drinks, it's just a bunch of junk. No, I don't want to buy crappy wall art for my house or a full size gas grill when I'm driving across the country. No, I don't want a T-Shirt or a stuffed animal that's advertising your gas station/convenience store. They are clean, I will give them that, but really nothing special. The best way I've seen to describe them was a comment I read on Reddit "Buc-ees is what you get when you apply the concept of Texas to a convenience store". It's big. They have a lot of stuff. Just nothing that's worth all the hype.
As someone who grew up in Texas, based solely on the food, Wawa is so much better than buckie's! I'll take a mid customizable cheese steak or Italian sub any day over the worst bbq ever. Wawa would definitely benefit from a table to eat at though.
Sheetz indoor and outdoor seating is basically a pig pen, there coffee taste like it was filtered through a sock, Sheetz food was decent 10 years ago now it’s just freezer burnt cardboard, Wawa destroys Sheetz in every aspect other than than gas prices it’s not even close like your not gonna sit here and say you get eggs, fries, and boneless bites to use as a topping for a cardboard “hamburger”
I hauled gas for Casey's. One store in small farm town, men farmers would stand drinking coffee 1 area, farm wives another area. Seating rare outside too. Bike touring contemplate carring 1# seat vs something else. Casey's does pizza right but need a lesson from Sheetz.

In Oklahoma, QuikTrip and Ejaculate n Evacuate are big and Casey's is starting to show up more along with another franchise called The Woodshed.

Wrong, Sheetz: Indoor and outdoor seating, best coffee ever, you can combine any combination of ingredients on a sandwich.

You won’t like Buckees because there are a million people and no place to sit on the plus side any food you want.
Too bad Maverick has indoor and outdoor seating has a sink to fill up water bottles, and awesome food if they are cooking.

Let me tell you, Buc-ee’s is BUSSIN. Place is like a cross between a cabelas food area/walmart/7/11/BBQ joint. Soooo good. V impressed.
