Carmel Valley is one of my favorite places in the world, but I've never thought of it as "Northern California." For me the northern part of the state would be more like Redding and Sacramento. I guess the dividing line between Northern and Southern California is still an issue of debate. That said, if I had a few million dollars to spare, I would be very interested in having a home in the Santa Lucia Preserve. I grew up in Monterey and spent a lot of time in the woods. I know the wildlife and vegetation in that area, and it's truly a wonderful place.
