- For the Love of Music has been out a few weeks now and honestly we're so happy with how you're all enjoying it. We've even started working on some live stuff which we will hopefully announce later in the year.
Wanted to go polar opposites to the last video so took out the Bass Station 2 and just set up a quick drum edit with a really dirty 909 kick. This was 100% improvised and that's what I love about the BS2. It's so easy to just turn it on set a few sounds up run the sequencer and get something really good. This utilises the AFX (Aphex Twin) mode brought in the last firmware update. Essentially each note is a different patch with this mode. Put that through the sequencer and percussion, drums and bass are all possible at the same time.
All recorded and edited using Ableton Live 11 and Hit Film Express.

And THIS, is what you get when you learn the instrument and practice.
You are a BS2 NINJA!
Wow, thank you so much, really appreciate your comments and for taking the time to have a look 👍👍
You re clearly very talented and that’s the reason it seems like the best sequencer :) Please make more videos!
Ah thank you so much. Really means a lot and we will definitely continue to make more videos 👍👍

This is so sick! 👍🏻🙌🏻👏🏻 Subbed! BTW, just ordered one and can’t wait to play around with it!!! 😃
Hey, thanks so much for dropping by, really appreciate it. Hope you enjoy the BS2 as much as we have over the years 👍👍
😮 crazy I have this unit and did not know it could do this. I mainly use it for live performance. Thanx nice job
Hey, thanks so much for taking a look and glad you learnt something new 🙏
oh yes that the stuff
Hey, thanks so much for dropping by and watching, really appreciate it 👍
Hey there, hope you are doing well. This is really cool sounds awesome and very skillful, I'd love to know more about sequencers and such. I Want to say thank you once again for the remix you did of our song Shame (which is now a year old) very much appreciated and I wish you all the very best,
Rick 🦡🤘❤️
Hey Rick, the remix was an absolute pleasure to do, was only thinking the other day about maybe getting it a proper release either through your platform or ours. In fact I just remixed it and remastered it to take out some frequencies I didn't love on listening back recently.
If you wanted to get in to synthesizers I would maybe have a look at the Minilogue XD, honestly the synth I play the most being from a guitar background it just all clicks really nicely together with that synth.
Anyhow hope you're well 👍👍
@@TheOceanBeneath that would be awesome. I think it would have to be through your platform as I don't have access to ours as the band has split and things are awkward. That said I am sure everyone would be up for it definitely, I am sure we could sort something out 🦡🤘❤️
I am just dabbling with synths through my solo project Sparralimb. I need to learn more... A lot more haha. If you ever fancy doing another remix there is a recent song of mine called Little Agonies that you might like, just a cheeky thought lol 😉
@@SaboteursMusic let's get the collaboration started 👍👍
@@SaboteursMusic Would also love to just mix that track, not so much remix but bring your mix up a bit.
@@TheOceanBeneath oh cool, I only have the studio master of Shame, not sure what you'd need tbh. Cool
Like Walmik wrote - this is amazing what opportunities you present here with the BS2. I really like it and of course - I am very impressed. Could you just show this nice piece of as a tutorial? Would this be-ossicle please?
Hey, thanks so much for this and for taking the time to listen. I'll certainly try do a run down of what's going on here 👍
@@TheOceanBeneath I second the request for a tutorial! would you be my mentor? show me your ways! :)
@@thatpatguy will try put something together 👍👍
this sounds amazing!
Thank you so much for your kind words and for stopping by for a listen. Really appreciate it 👍👍
Watched tons of videos on this, and this is the only one which makes the bass station sound good. Is it all bass station and is it difficult to make sounds like this..? Thank you
Thanks Richard, really glad you liked the video. Everything is the BS2 other than the kick and hi hats that come in, oh and that reverse crash cymbal as well. The rest is just one live take of the BS2 with no editing though. They are great synths 👍👍
check out the Novation 'advanced sound design'// Novation live-with very good tutorial on afx and overlays etc
Hey Justin, thanks for dropping by and will definitely take a look for that video 👍👍

Hey Andy, thanks for stopping by for a look, really appreciate it 👍👍
