I found this video of the Aliner Expedition the best out there. It shows about everything on setup, teardown, and how to use all the features. Wonderful job! Thank you for posting this on UA-cam!

@@Steve-yo4ld A 2-way fridge runs on AC or propane, while a 3-way fridge can run on both of those plus run on DC. I know of a instance where this trailer was asked to leave because it had no self contained both black and grey tank. They didn’t want any issues with improper campers bathroom habits
If you are a serious traveller and you like to put in some miles between camp-sites I can definitely see the benefit with this design, for starters it has less wind resistance than a normal trailer so there for cutting down on fuel costs and having a lower centre of gravity( mass)helps with stability, but perhaps the best thing would be its lower profile in highway crosswinds ,which with a normal trailer can be quite terrifying when the wind can make the trailer start to wobble, and even blow the trailer over if the wind is strong enough, as it can with heavier semi trucks and their trailers, although having said all of that, I think with all those hinges I would carry a tarp to cover the opened up trailer if the weather became seriously wet and windy, just in case, but most people carry a large tarp anyway, so not really an issue,
I actually thought it was the opposite, that most vehicles today tow better than their similar predecessors. These trailers are pretty light. There are a lot of choices for tow vehicles.
I pull my Aliner scout with a 2012 nissan xterra prox suv. also, i live in a subdivision where vehicles cannot be parked in the drive or yard. it easily backs into the garage. on the pavement it is light enough to push or pull it up to the car if i haven''''t backed up to the hitch.
I actually looked at an A-liner back in 2020 and when I went to research it I read about how they leak. I told the salesman what I read and they said that it wasn’t true. Fortunately I asked when it was raining and I looked at the wall that crosses between the side wall and the main wall and there was water. I decided on a Intech!
I keep hearing this about A-frames. I wonder if it's actually unique to A-liner models, though? I have a Rockwood A122-S and have not had any problems with water coming in through any of the gaps. I've had it set up in pretty rough weather: in the summer, a torrential downpour with 50mph wind gusts. And this winter we had 3-feet of snow over 2 days with 70mph wind gusts! It performed like a champ. In fact, I slept in it during the winter storm, just to see what it would be like. It was warm and cozy, barely rocked, hardly any drafts and no snow blew in. I do place plumbing insulation "noodles" in the seams in the winter, though, to help insulate it. With wind chills below zero outside, I was able to maintain a comfy and calm 65°F inside. I slept like a baby! Edit: I've also heard horror stories from people about the wind tearing open the roof on A-frames in winds less than I've experienced. I honestly can't see how in my A122-S. The top fits together with notches and then you lock the walls in place with very secure latches. I do have a cross-beam I use, though, to hang things from the ceiling. Although I don't install it for stability, this should give extra support to the walls and prevent them from being "pushed in" under pressure. That's about the only way I could imagine the roof collapsing - if strong winds managed to push hard enough to bend the latches sideways until they failed and then the wall collapsed. I can't imagine them failing from the roof being pulled "up" by the winds unless you were in a severe hurricane. As I mentioned, 50 to 70mph wind gusts didn't seem to phase it, my camper rocked and creaked a little but it wasn't any worse than being inside a car in those conditions. 2nd edit: Giving it a little more thought, there is one other way I can imagine the wind tearing it open - if you mistakenly thought everything was properly seated and latched when it wasn't. I made that mistake early on with the roof, that it wasn't seated quite right, but then the latches won't close properly which is how I realized it. If someone were to ignore the poor latching and just shrug it off, I could see problems in high winds. Since that one time where it wasn't seated, I triple-check when I put it up to ensure it's seated properly in the notches.
People say that about popups too, and neither of my two Coleman's or my current flagstaff has ever leaked in heavy down pours or winds. I tend to believe that mostly it would be unit, or use, or set up issue on the whole. I will say that breaking down in rain is the same as with a popup for wetness, so you need to put it back up when you get where you are going to dry out.
Don't feel like this one would be very good to even set up when it's raining. You would have to wait to set up if it's pouring outside when you pull into a camp site. Hopefully your not tired.
There has to be a privacy curtain for the toilet so you are not pooping in front of people. Sink also needs a cover because there needs to be more counter space for TV placement. The interior is too beige needs better decoration. My old pop up even had a shower configuration. I liked the solid dormers for a weather and security purposes and the fold up top on the cassette toilet. This video also needed to show how you set up the table bed not just show it finished. Very expensive for what you get. Easy pass for me.
They didn't forget, they just didn't want to scare you away when you are so close to being suckered into at least thinking about throwing away your money on such garbage. They know what they're doing for sure.
I wonder if the manufacturer would be willing to delete the actual cassette toilet/system, and keep the cabinet? Maybe then you could then add your own composting toilet. I also wonder how feasible it would be create your own "self contained" indoor temporary shower set up and use that in the dinette spot? Hmn...the possibilities. I like this Aliner! Thank you PJ!
First concern: appears that is a risk of water leakage when dormers are folded down. One person reported leakage wad an issue. Second: comfort of beds.
I like it but I beach/ jetty fish and I'm thinking the winds can be challenging to set up those walls for those few moments to click in the closures by myself.
I like the look and functionality of this trailer. 2 questions: 1. does it leak when it rains? (the dutch door didn't look like it fit well and I would worry about the dormers. 2. Is there an A/C or an option for one? Hard to imagine you sell many of these in Georgetown, Tx without an A/C.
The entire time I’m thinking this trailer is not very air tight. All those cracks where panels meet and in between the door halves mean bugs, smoke, humidity, and warm/cold air can all some right in. Also, the gas struts are on the outside exposing them to sun, wind when traveling, freezing precipitation, and so forth.
You are a wise man. Search Aliner reviews by real people who are also owners. They do leak air and water. Slim Potato Head has a nice channel with reviews and modifications over a period of years. Huge mistake…you should’ve put up the roof first before unclipping the dormers… There is even a warning sticker on the unit. Roof needs to be in place before unlocking dormers.
Not singling out the Aframe but smaller campers have become SO expensive that they are not worth spending that much money. Beautiul but excludes out so many families. Too bad.
There are excellent used deals on the market. They are often built better and often initial problems have been fixed. Do your research, be persistent and careful.
