Douche! We could have gone to the Playwrite and paid half, but you had to impress your boss and promote your stupid bar. Not one buyback and you know the interns make no money because you were a seven year intern. You make me sick, you're a douche.
Jesus Christ John... Artie makes fun of your jokes and you come back with talking about how he tried to kill himself. Who would want to hang around someone like that?
Artie frequently fell victim to the Stern universe’s inability to take a joke. That’s why he fit in with the miscreants from Opie and Anthony much better.
59:34 put headphones on. U can hear artie walking away from the mic saying “it’s so embarrassing”. Meaning how embarrassing stuttering John is and how he doesn’t even see him self being so transparent in being passive aggressive
Haha. Also sniffs and says who farted hahahaha I keep saying it and maybe it’ll come true but maybe one day we’ll have video for this. I’d pay to see it
There comes the moment when John realizes he's gone too far, sunk too low, so in an attempt to mitigate the damage, and get the attention off himself, he switches to this soft-voiced person, full of love and concern -- why do you do it, Artie, why? His maneuvers are so transparent, his psychology almost childlike.
You nailed it Joe. Arties banter was lighthearted... just joking around. Unfortunately, John is so thin-skinned that a bit of simple goofing around about Larry The Cable Guy is enough for him to attack Artie regarding his father's death and suicide attempts. I can't imagine the psychological hell John's wife and kids went through with this simpleton.
The thing is, that “soft-voiced person, full of love” is actually the exact opposite. His questions are textbook definition of passive aggressive. Notice, those loving questions make Artie look horrible and exploit one of the darkest places he’s ever been, while in John’s mind, make him look/sound concerned. John is a transparent unfunny, unintelligent, unemployed piece of garbage. He deserves everything bad that comes his way.
I don’t think that’s it. John sounded sincere to me. He just doesn’t really have a comedic mind. Not a bad thing per se. He will always naturally veer conversation to a more serious nature. Whereas say Artie or Anthony are the direct opposite. And very hard to have a conversation with.
And ARTIE probably would have been FINE if his drug of choice had just been readily available at every restaurant & bodega in NYC! I think Artie mostly only ran into problems when he ran out... And then you have John who refuses to go on a podcast unless they have AT LEAST a dozen COORS ready for him!
@@StreetPreacherr well no. Artie’s issues stem from unresolved guilt related to his father. Drug addiction is not the cause of your problems, it’s just a bad coping mechanism. Johns problem is that he wants to be a funny, respected member of show business despite the fact he has no talent. He knows he’s talentless that’s why he lashes out the way he does. An important part of getting sober is recognizing and confronting the reason you do what you do. John will likely never face that harsh reality and who knows if Artie has

That’s true for most of the great radio/podcast guys. There are two types of funny, guys who can be funny off the cuff and guys who can write funny shit. John is neither
@@SlickArmorWell, that would be a wrong because John even said himself that it's clear Artie didn't wanna talk about it. He knew but he was upset so he did the passive aggressive shit he always does. He did it about Artie's addiction on the AA show, and you don't have to be Artie's "friend" to know he doesn't like talking about heroin on air.
Because he's always been a wannabe who knows he has no talent at anything. He masquerades as a stand-up, podcast personality, and all of it founded on the fact that Howard thought it'd be funny to hire an intern with a stutter who was clearly a buffoon. So cracking jokes about him, especially to do with his lack of comedic wit, and his fall-upward career makes him extraordinarily sensitive and go for the jugular when he lobs insults back. "Is that in your act, John" "WELL YOURE A HEROIN ADDICT ARTIE." I think he has some particularly deep resentment of Artie because Artie naturally does what John wishes he could do and be which is being naturally funny and having a career earned from it.
Utter the best pure humiliation I ever heard. Even if John were to utter something by accident funny, Artie just dominated breathing in. What a great listen.

The traits required go beyond just being funny, you need an acting/showmanship ability that goes way beyond that. But Artie is easily one of the most naturally funny people alive.

This podcast must've been recorded after 2pm. John's incapable of staying sober after 2 pm each day. Not for his show, other people's show, to visit his children, or at his elderly mother's house. Listen to the Artie and Anthony show with John, before Artie is even there John is making heroin jokes. Anthony warns him that Artie might get annoyed with the low blows... and Artie *does* get irritated and comedically filets John, Anthony pokes fun at John and eventually John turns on Anthony as well with low blows about his acne scars and his legal issues. 10+ beers (in 1 hour) later John leaves the show defeated.

How John somehow landed himself in the company of people like Artie and Cumia etc I'll never know. He has no understanding of the dynamic between comedians. He doesn't know how to read a room, often steps all over a punchline or a setup, has no ability to riff and generally lacks all comedic instincts. He and Jackie are two people who, because of circumstances, found themselves in the company of people they are completely unqualified to banter with.

Why did they pull that?
@@terror-dom2404 My guess, John demanded they take it down? It's a humiliatingly piece of tape. I just checked, and it's still absent, Episode 46.
@Liara I'Sorry The Dabbler must be extremely busy trying to keep up with & take down the endless shit festival he provides. I love it. He's such a f@cking scumbag!
Her name was Ashli Babbitt
Yeah and she tried to smash through the door into the speakers’ lobby?
The fuck is that supposed to mean?
Now her name is worm food
If you could hear a train wreck this would be it. Entertaining yes, but very sad at the same time.
Howard was so right, John is only funny when he’s not trying. “How do you know it was Howard?” “Because it said, from Howard.” That wasn’t a joke, he meant that lol
John's drunk as usual!!!! That shit gets old!!!!!!
Even at the end after coming back from the break were everything got awkward it was still as funny as shit.
It’s hard to read a room when no one’s there…
Don't compare Jackie to John. Jackie has 10 times the talent, can laugh at himself, and is likeable. John is just a talentless, overly-sensitive, scumbag.
How cringey is John, always expecting freebies. In the immortal words of Scarface, Johns a 'hosser', thats a pig that dont fly straight.......
Ewww- John’s so cringe 😬 trying to deflect the ball.breaking…..what’s bothering Artie? YOU John!
2:40 and this dude was the former announcer for the biggest talk show of all time 🤣
Such a pity hire
34:39 little jab from Artie and John's vicious side comes out!
Johns only getting made fun of cause he keeps saying stuff like “It’s a comedy Romp” and he should expect it that cause it’s ridiculous.
Thank you!
Great show
To be funny, you have to be smart, and quick. Artie was spot on, John....not funny at all
Fun reminder how bad John is.
Back from the dead!
For a limited time unfortunately 😒
What year was this?
2015-2016 in there
Artie is one of the greats! His quick wit is impressive, and obviously unmatched by SJ. "Clearly you put on the kid gloves" 🤣 Artie also prob has numerous mood altering substances and is still SO quick. Absolutely impressive..
This is gold, cringe inducing gold
"Get her done" 😁😁😁😁😁😁
I miss Artie
