The 2024 version of the essential has more notes pages in the back and she increased the darkness of the lines. I’m patiently waiting for my order to arrive. 😊
I ended up getting a few things from Aura Estelle for 2024 and I def think the lines are nice and dark in the 2024s. Would love to hear what your think of them when yours arrives!
Every year I get a weeks and this year I decided I wanted to try a Common Planner B6 size instead. I can see why people like it, but for me personally I prefer A6 for catchall, Weeks for work, and A5 for personal. I didn’t realize Aura Estelle was putting out Weeks this year and so when I was finally clued in, they were all sold out. Hopefully Aura Estelle and Annie Plans will do another collab for this in 2024 as this is the perfect layout for me! I prefer my months and weeks and days to be grouped instead of spread apart; it’s why I haven’t gotten a Hobonichi weeks. I did get the A6 size from Aura Estelle for the second half of this year as I’m starting a new venture which I think needs its own planner.
I love the way you separate it out and it sounds like you have a great system going. Aura Estelle just released a few more designs recently in undated form too. They have so many good options!
I'm glad I got one at a discounted. I hadn't noticed the Sunday start on the monthlies and the Monday start on the weeklies. That's just dumb. I'd be putting appointments down on the wrong day in my monthly! It will make things confusing and I purposely buy pre printed, dated planners to simplify my life. Ugh!! Glad there's only 3 months left in the year for me to have to redate. I hope the 2024 a6 I pre ordered doesn't have this. 😡
I think most US planners have a Sunday start monthly and a Monday start weekly. It's more common than a Monday start monthly. I grew up with Sunday start monthly calendars so my brain cannot process the other way ha ha.
I wish Aura Estelle would use Monday starts throughout. It makes zero sense why their monthly calendars start on Sunday but their weekly calendars start on Monday within the same planner. I’d buy from them if they ever changed this.
I can totally see how it would bother people to have the dates different. I don't know why but the Monday start monthly calendars totally throw me for a loop! My brain like short circuits when the Sunday isn't first on there ha ha.
For me the Sunday start month with Monday start weekly works, but I can understand folks wanting the consistency of start days. I’m just so trained to use traditional monthly calendars, but have always used Monday start weeklies so my brain will make many mistakes with any other start format. This is the only planner I’ve seen that fits my brain.
I really wish this planner could have worked for me but it gets three thumbs down. Thumbs down number one for me is the Sunday start calendar with Monday start weeklies. Having the mix together is just bizarre for me. Second thumbs down is I do like my months spreads to be together. A lot of my planning for work is based on due dates across a month and so when I am looking at my big picture of when things are due down the line I need to have the months together otherwise I'm flipping through each month to find monthly calendar. The third thumbs down is that you can't or there is no grid on the calendar pages. For those of us who don't ride straight not having a grid on the calendar page makes for a big mess. I would add an additional thumbs down for only a hundred blank pages. That's not enough for meeting notes across a year but I know that for some that's not an issue.
I totally hear you. Your reasons are totally valid. They certainly have a very specific layout that won't necessarily appeal to everyone. I can't do the unlined monthly calendars very well either. I am the opposite about the. monthly spreads, generally when they are together it really throws me off but I totally see how it would be helpful for planning ahead much easier to just flip one page back and forth. Have you checked out the Sterling Inks? They sound like they might be a better fit for you.

I still love my sterling, but this is interesting.
They have some really neat layouts. I was impressed with how many different layouts they offered.

I'm with you. I converted to Monday start in 2016, so having monthly Sunday start doesn't work for me.
