Actually I find it easier to memorise because then I can focus on my hands instead of the sheet music Also if you practice 40 hours a day I think it becomes like muscle memory.

@@bettyl haha, that’s so true. Muscle memory is both and asset and a weakness. On one hand, it come naturally with multiple practice and I feel like I can be more expressive when I play it like that. But when you make a slip and your concentration gets derailed, recovering can be so difficult, painful and panic inducing ... 😫

I was in my business class one day, and this teacher started playing classical music. Most of it was baroque wind quartets, quintets, etc. Most of the music was really fast and I would usually enjoy that music if I wasn’t trying to get serious work done, but from all that I was getting a headache and then they played Für Elise and people were singing along to it awfully and by that point my head hurt really bad and I was telling them to stop and they kept going. This is an arts school 🤦♀️
