- 8 cups of pour-over-style coffee in 6 minutes? That’s what the Bonavita 8 Cup One-Touch Coffee Maker does. Shop Bonavita 8 Cup ONe Touch Coffee Maker: alternativebrewing.com.au/pro.... It may look like your ordinary coffeemaker on the outside but this high-performance brewer is laden with features designed to simulate the thoughtful steps of a barista when making pourover coffee.
To start off, the Bonavita One Touch Coffee Maker has a pre-infusion mode that imitates the blooming phase of pour over methods. In pre-infusion, the coffee grounds are wet just enough to facilitate degassing before the actual brewing, an important step in making tasty coffee. And unlike ordinary coffee makers that haphazardly drip water to the coffee grounds, the Bonavita One Stop has a large shower head designed to gently saturate the coffee bed in the flat bottomed filter basket below for a more even extraction.
Last but not the least, this coffee machine maintains the perfect water temperature for brewing by keeping it at 91°-96°C throughout the brewing process. Afterward, the brewed coffee is kept warm in the double-wall stainless steel carafe just waiting to be savoured.
Bonavita 8 Cup One-Touch Coffee Maker Features
Golden Cup Standard - Using well-known recipes and popular preferences for the ideal coffee flavour and strength.
Pre-infusion mode - Optional, start with a bloom to allow the coffee grounds to de-gas.
Perfect brewing temperature - Maintains the water temperature at 91°-96°C to prevent burning the coffee.
Even extraction - Large showerhead and flat bottomed filter basket create an even coffee extraction without having you worry about it.
Double-wall carafe - After the machine is done brewing, it keeps your coffee nice and hot in its double-wall carafe.

Great review
Great video nicely done, Beautiful Bonavita
Thank you! Cheers!
Excellent video. Thank you.
You are welcome!
Does Bonavita have plans to bring a 230V version of their variable temp gooseneck kettle into Australia?
I love my bonavita
GOOD VIDEO. I'm considering, but in RECENT past replacement parts have been hard to get due to Bonavita company issues. Will re-start of Bonavita products also guarantee replacement carafe, other parts? Will any new brewers address the NO Auto shutoff for safety? Will the two Bonavita brewers that DO NOT list SCA rating be upgraded?? Thank You I hope I learn the answers and appreciate your work !!
There's not many replacement parts for this brewer unfortunately.
Once you hit the button for 5 seconds the maker turns on the bloom feature. Then once you hit the button again the maker has a flashing red light during brewing. If you don't use the bloom feature and just hit the button to brew, the light just lights up and stays on. Why is that? Also, which method is necessary for descaling the maker? Thank you...

Nice review. Being in a household where I'm the only coffee drinker this would be overkill must of the time but at the same time I need to get something like this for those occasions where you have to make batch brews for visitors. At the moment spend the best part of 20 mins making several coffees with an aeropress, which is clearly disastrous 😂
Totally agree
@@AlternativeBrewing Bonavita makers smaller volume coffee makers. :)
Ive always been curious why the US versions of this brewer have flat bottom filter baskets conpared to the European versions with the cone basket. Any insigt on this and which may be better for this brewer.
Same! This was misleading since I am looking into buying a US flat bottom model. Also, the manual from Amazon vs manual from website suggest different amounts of coffee per cup! Weird...
i was just on the website chat, and they said the 5 cup has the cone
How would you guys rate this in terms of the filter machines you offer, the wide shower head looks like it would offer the most even extraction and agitation to me. What’s the office favourite (can’t say MM)
hahahahah can't say MM ... hmmmm 🤔 Than yes, this is a decent choice - either this or the Breville
I just bought a used one touch 8 cup. When I press the button for pre-infusion mode there is no beep. Is this mode a newer adaptation? Also, I would say that the stainless carafe keeps the coffee hot for less than an hour. The maker is also very noisy. I wouldn't be able to use it in my small BnB until guests were up as I would be afraid of waking them. Otherwise, it works well and the coffee is excellent. It has greatly improved the taste of commercial brands such as Starbucks and Pete's.
My older machine has no beep. If you push and hold the button on the edge so you can see the light it will flash twice to indicate the pre-infusion mode. Then, when you brew the coffee, the light will flash slowly until the machine turns off. When the machine is not in the pre infusion mode, the light glows solid red until the machine turns off. I agree, the stainless carafe does not keep the coffee hot for very long. But this machine makes excellent coffee.
When we brew 1.3liter, we lose a third of the coffee when finished. Why?
What if you only want to make two cups. Will it still deliver excellent coffee for a small batch?
2-4 cups yes 👌
Where do you get the descaler powder or liquid.?
From here: alternativebrewing.com.au/collections/coffee-machine-descalers 😀
Does the Bonavita 8 cup One Touch also make decent small batches? Or, is it best to buy the 5 cup one touch and make several batches? Sometimes I just want to make 1 or 2 cups and I don't know if this machine is better for larger batches or not.
1 cup is difficult on most batch brewers, however the Bonivita 8 will make 2-3 cups okay. So around 400-500ml water yes 👍
Just got 1 of these for Christmas. Filled it with water to flush out before use but it just steams the water away. Only about 1.5” of water in the carafe after starting with 8 cups of water. What am I doing wrong?
That's very weird. I have never heard of this before. Make sure you're only placing cold water in the tank - not hot water. If it persist - where you're only getting half or less the amount in the carafe - especially when using no coffee - than you may have a faulty machine..
Why is my coffee so weak? I’ve descaled, added more coffee. Still weak.
Hi, Can I make a smaller 2 to 3. Cup brew with this? How should I alter coffee/water ratios?
Pno umorder
Hey, where is the coffee art behind you from?
It was sent to us from a loyal customer 🫶
@@AlternativeBrewing Would you happen to have their contact info or be able put them into contact with me? I’d like to buy one and wondered if that was possible. Thanks!
ive gotten 3 different filters but everytime i try to brew coffee recently the water just stays on top for a long while after its done brewing im buying pre grinded coffee
Clean out the shower head, descale the machine and also grind your own coffee, rather than using pre ground.
Probably ground too fine also. Fine = slower, might clog. Coarse = faster brew, may be watery...
How much coffee in tablespoons for 4 cups?
about 8-12 grams.
How small is a medium grind?
About 450-650µ microns
I’ve had mine since August, noticed today that the shower head water distribution is not even, only really three or so going at once with odd drips from the others. AFAIK my local water is really soft, 11 mg/L CaCO3 but I still descale. Is this normal?
Possibly yes. Seems to soon for scale - but rapid heating and cooling of water does speed these processes up - giving it a good flush out will always help though 🫶
@@AlternativeBrewing ah nm it looks like pre-infusion mode was enabled which changes the drip pattern drastically
NICE! haha a much better turn out. I'll keep this in mind now too. Pre-infusion is a great feature to use @@nananikinas8864
Can I brew 1 cup
Sure. Just add the correct water-to-coffee ratio, and you're good to go. Adjust the amount of grounds to your liking depending on the roast level of your coffee.
Using a separate pitcher to pour water in is sort of the pits. I enjoy the coffee for sure, but what this coffee makes up for in 1 touch brewing, it lacks in a few basic conveniences that I took for granted with other brewers.
I discovered this by accident. Inside of the lid that goes onto the coffee pot, is as about as nasty as it gets. Bugs and other nasty debris gets inside. Fortunately this top piece comes off easy enough. Just give it a slight twist and it pops off easily. But do not be surprised by how disgusted you're going to be.
Rick, bud, maybe this coffee maker should be the least of your worries if bugs are taking up residence in it.

Asking for a Like and/or Subscribe is like asking for a tip--there’s a presumption that the delivered content is worthy of the requested gratuity. So asking at the beginning of the presentation assumes I will like what I’m about to see. Really? How would I know if I’m going to like it if I haven’t even seen it? Besides, just asking at all is reason-enough to not-like the video or not-want to subscribe to future offerings. If you’re going to beg for approval; at least wait until I have an opportunity to view the content, then decide if it’s worth-while.
I really do appreciate your support, viewership and this comment. You see though, retention in a video is a frightful thing. Either way you look at it, we’re vying for your attention. Id love to acknowledge everyone whom has liked a video and subscribed to this channel. I honestly can’t say if each Individual is a real person or a bot, however you are most likely correct - in that if placing the request at the end of a video - I’ll most likely succeed at garnering the upmost respectful likes and subscribers due to them having watched all the content. I am however aware that there is a certain amount of people who will like and subscribe at the start as well - and if they do so, without seeing to the end of the video - they may not ever like and subscribe.
Perhaps I can add in a pretext to say - that if at any stage you like what your watching, then do show that through the like button or wish to see more of what I do, then subscribe to our channel- what do you say about that? Would this work?
