- Thomas Couetdic leads an international group of traceurs through their parkour training on a summer's evening in London. No spectacle, race, or competition. This happens on any...
A film by Julie Angel featuring Thomas Couetdic and Naoki Ishiyama from Parkour Generations.
only those who practice it and respect the gyus who have years of training. (like thomas) A video like this is always a gem for those who aren´t lucky enough to train with them
hey! was great having him around all summer, you'll see quite a lot of him in the RDV4 edit soon too :)
Hope all's well in Brazil,
cheers,Julie
Agree ^ ^
That's why i have huge respect for them.
what defines a sport.. physical exertion... competition(you compete against yourself. always challenging)
its one hellova sport.
great to see that pkgen keeps the spirit alive
really enjoyed that :), much love to naoki and arthur!
I've nearly finished that film :) This film was an accident, I didn't plan to shoot the class before the night shoot but liked the vibe that evening.
I love the sound of parkour :)
That park looks like it would be amazing to skate in.
Ah. I remember that day.. I was being "tortured" by forrest at the same time! Was a good day, and alot of fun. Always a pleasure to train with pk-gen :)
Great one, Julie.
5/5
It's awesome to watch Art on your vid.
The guy from Brazil, PKMAX Parkour team.
Thomas is one of the most inspiring guys from Parkour world wide.
I love the guy.
Take care, my friends.
Cheers from Brazil.
Naoki is back!!! Love the video, thank you =)
That's how everyone should do..
That's the result of hard training..and good training.
good to hear it. here's to a speedy recovery!
Arteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeebaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, todo sorridente!! :D
someone who also trains (and actually cares) and who would like to see what others do as training .
Hey! Really nice Julie!
Good to see our brazilian friend Art in the vid and the magician guy as known as Thomas too! lol.
Loved the video. Favorited easily
Why are you here if you just want to see people do cool stuff? This is here to show what it takes to do all that cool stuff. If you can already do it, cool. Get out there and do cool stuff. Record it so we can see cool stuff, too. I personally like watching these videos. They gives me an idea of the type of conditioning I need to do. I don't have a mentor to follow, things online are all I have.
Nice job!
Excellent training!
I love watching proper training videos.
Cheers Julie!
Zeno
P.S. Good to see Thomas talking about excuses, as it is very important to highlight within a Traceur/Traceuses mentality.
i'm glad to see this video! real great :)
NAOKI-SAN!!!
Cool video Julie, I remember the class well!
Thank you Zeno.. Those questions were rhetorical, and meant for the people who were complaining or who didn't understand who or what they were watching ;)
This class was a few days before his accident.
Nice class with Thomas!
Hope i will do this kind of class one day :)
Keep it up!
Awesome !!
make me wanna come visit england again =)
These guys actually have talent. I have seen other videos where these individuals take big risks. None the less it is entertaining. More entertaining than watching Angry german kid, and loser Fred.
THANK YOU for this video
Naoki is still recovering, this video was shot 2 days before his accident. He'll be back!
The guys behind PK GEN are very experienced, professionally and accademically qualified. They work very closely with the ORIGINAL practioners (Yamakasi).
Conditioning serves two very important reasons. (1) To be strong to be useful (2) To make you more resilient to injuries.
I hope that answers your questions or backs up your thoughts.
very nice vid, I like it
'Born to Love You' by Andrew Potterton on Perception Records. Check the end credits for the website & myspace.
Japan, japan japan, tokyo, japan, finish. Haha, great video!!
I think it's awesome that you make these training-days-thing whatever you call :b anyway thumbs up for you :D
This was filmed a few days before his accident. He's doing well though and he'll be back!
that is THE proudest japanese ever. shit cant complain, hes happy where hes from
what amazing places
This was filmed 2 days before Naoki's accident, but he will be back! :)
inspiring video
well i wont say im tired again ^_^
but really
its hard to train alone
Lol, that japanese guy was awesome, so happy
itsss naoki :) wish him a speedy recovery still :)
That Japanese Looks Cool And Looks Like It Didn't Rain That Afternoon
Good trainer!
Things to consider: 1. Who are the people that make up Parkour Generations and what is their relationship to this discipline. 2. Why do they place such a strong emphasis on conditioning and stretching before technique training commences..
Parkour has nothing to do with flips and tricks. That's free running. Parkour was created by David Belle as a means of escaping an emergency, i.e., the most efficient movements designed to help you gain the most ground while chasing/being chased by something. It emphasizes efficiency and speed of movement. Free running, on the other hand, is just what it sounds like. Running free. Using whatever movements you want to navigate your environment. Flair, flips, and tricking are part of this.
He forgot to say "Super #1"
great video really good :)
Yep, this was filmed two days before his accident but he'll be back!
just train! nice guys!
"japan, Tokyo, Japan, finish"
looks like alot of fun love to be able o do a class or 2 this year.
(just a quick question is the RDV4 vid comming out soon? thanks)
härligt ignis
at around 3:00 you notice how much less noise the leader makes when he does the jump compared to everyone else.
and some parkour :)
Ohhh awesome video! Loved Naoki's line! "Japan, Japan, Tokio, Japan... finish! :D" Was that the day of the accident?
It's because he jumps up on a different ledge.
@thatparkourdude
Actually, his father was in the military as a kid, David said so in one of his interviews on Urbanfreeflow's channel.
last i heard naoki was hurt and could'
int leave the UK. is he doing better or was this before that all happened? great video by the way.
work in progress, it's coming together
take me back to london.. now!! :D
By the way Julie. Will we see anything from the footage from the evening after the session? :)
I was willing for some parkour video without music, sometimes I wanna hear the sound of the landings, thanks for that, and please, do more videos without music, so I can hear the movements ^^
That japanese guy is a ninja i tell you!!
@parkourmumbai You can see bits of the other class in the background, that's why I put it in the credits. There isn't a separate video edit of Blane's class I'm afraid.
check out the film 'ParkourGenerations:Visions' on this channel, you should like that one too.
parkour mental motion :)
BRASIL!
nice stuff guys
Naoki, tokyo japan finish lol
So did Couetdic teach these guys some stuff or did they just meet up and train together.
Orrrr did these 'internationals' fly in, pay for a session with Thom and go training?
This was filmed at Latimer Road by the way..
Lol @ Naoki =D
I have the same feeling as that Swedish guy a lot ... perhaps I should make the trip to London to try and find my true limit. Is it fear, a lack of confidence or truly a lack of ability ... I hate that feeling.
@Killalot2012
yep it's Blane :)
HAHAHA 4:17
I guess the guy in red did not read the sign "WET PAINT"
London
says in the description
damn..i wish i had talent.
I wish they thought Parkour here like they do there...
1:22 i've thougt, the walk on a wall..
where, Where, WHERE?!?!?
More catcrawls and pushups :-(
All I'm saying is that if you've seen one solid parkour training video (Such as Angel's Behind the Jump), you've pretty much seen them all. The techniques and training routines basically stay the same from one video to the next. No disrespect to these guys, I'd just rather see them at their best.
i swear all parkour gen actually do half the time is condition and stretch most of the time :)
xD at 4:17 did you get wet paint on your back?
btw that jump is huge, it looks way bigger in person than on camera :p
@oXGenesisXo
Yeah, I noticed that too. :)
That's a classic newcomer tendency to not bend deep enough to absorb impact when landing.
Brazil, Sweden... JAPA!! Japan... Tokyo.... Japan.... finish, finish. xD
He says "Finish"
It is hard on your joints, I was just saying if you look at david belle whos in his thirties and see that hes still training you'll realise that PROPER conditioning and landing techniques put less stress on your joints.
have they changed the brickes and stuff at latimer road?
Any social media links to the guy from Japan?
In the credits of this video it says the second such class was led by Blane. Does anyone have the link to it please? Thanks.
Depends who you listen to. David Belle would probably tell you they are different, The Yamakasi would tell you they're the same. Me? I think there's too much concern about the name. I'll just get on with doing what I do, and not worry about what it's called.
problem is, it doesn't keep them off the streets....
yeah super xD
Is that blane at 00:57?!
I mean where in London...
Yea does anyone know where this is?
Any what?
ANY WHAT???
Why did the Swedish guy lie about being tired when he was actually afraid of doing the maneuver? Wouldn't it be better to be honest with the trainer instead of lying?
thats how i see it as well you can build strength through training , jsut dosnt make sense to me but up to them aint it :)
urban ninjas
Japan , Japan "Finish"
