I only cook with Ghee, my wife and I both prefer the buttery flavor. I use 2 Tbs in my black coffee every morning and I really enjoy it. My main purpose for using it is I've heard very positive results with the prevention and reversal of Alzheimer's. My Mom had it and I will do everything I can to prevent it.

I started using Coconut oil for all my sauteeing about 6 months ago when I first read about it. Like it because it doesn't change the taste of the foods I am cooking in it. The higher burn temp capacity makes it great for my fried chicken wings etc..

Great info, you are concerned with health, not only weight loss, good Job. Coconut oil is also good to use on the skin for eczema. I found that most RX creams, including steroid creams, moisturisers and ointments had alcohol and or some other type of preservative which only serve to sting and dry the skin out more. My son had chronic eczema from a very early age, we had dietary and environmental measures in place and with the RX ointments, creams, moisturisers and steroids he was still suffering. The eczema cleared up in no time once I started using coconut oil to moisturise and cut out the all the RX's. Now our golden rule is we don't put anything on our skin that we couldn't safely eat. Remember the skin is a permeable membrane.

NJSMKMMS try putting a filter in all of your facets. Including shower head. Filter out all minerals and fluoride from the water.
Do that and you’ll notice a difference in your skin and hair.

You can find coconut oil in Indian grocery stores too. A lot of dishes from Kerela (region of India) are prepared using coconut oil.
Coconut oil is also a great conditioner for the hair. Leave it on all night and wash it off in the morning for silkier hair.

My wife and I found a recipe from Mike Dolce which is awesome! We adjusted it a bit but you fillet a chicken breast, dip it in eggs mixed with almond milk, roll it in flax seed and oats, and then roll it in coconut flakes. After that, cook it in coconut oil. It's called tropical chicken and it's healthy! Thanks for all the videos Dani, they are tony the tiger grrrrreat!

Costco carries it for about half the price. I LOVE it. I put in on my skin everyday, even my face with no breakouts and younger looking skin. My skin has never been so soft. I like to use it when I make banana bread. It makes it taste tropical and next time I think I will go all out add some crushed pineapple too. I love your tip for pie crusts. I will try that next time.

I've been using coconut oil for the past couple of months now since I've been on the paleo diet. One of my favorite things to make with it is zucchini pancakes. I just saw several different brands of coconut oil at Bulk Barn this past wknd. I remember when, a little over a decade ago, movie theatres stopped using coconut oil in their popcorn due to the outcry over the fact that it is a saturated fat. I also remember theatre popcorn tasting a lot better when coconut oil was used and I never asked for butter. I don't know what kind of oil they use now, but if I get it I have to have "butter" on it. Defeats the purpose, I'm thinking.

Hi Dani! I'm very confused about using the coconut oil. Here is what my friend told me about the coconut oil:
Be careful about using too much Coconut oil in your food.
Even thou it's of plant origin, but it has lots of saturated fats, so it's as bad as butter, beef and other animal fats.
Dr. Weil doesn't recommend using the c. oil. I'm watching my diet so what takes?
    Thank you!

monounsaturated fats found in extra virgin olive oil are stable enough to not form free radicals for hours, not likely to occur in any situations cooking, do to the fact you would need to deep fry at 405 degrees (smoke point) for 10 hrs to form free radicals and at 405 degrees evoo has a higher smoke point than even refined coconut oil
