What if this whole thing, was to get Osiris, who is now Savathun, into the tower, to cause chaos and disruptions, to take the Traveler, like Taken take it. In the Under the Endless Night lorebook, a entry is literally from Savathun in the last city, where they say their teeth are black and a black haze exits their mouth, now who else would want to fully cover their face right now? Someone who could make the excuse of not wanting to show the marks carved in by the Celebrant? I think we've all been played, the Celebrant wrathborn thing was to create violence to feed the hive, and to make us not suspect Osiris.
Can i just say the voice actor for Osiris is doing a phenomenal job with sounding so off compared to how Osiris sounded in other seasons and in CoO It takes some phenomenal talent to make a character you've been voicing for years to sound like an imposter compared to the actual character (yes i know i said the word, it's the only fitting one i could think of)
It's true, there are subtleties that he's weaving in that so subtle and so great. Little hesitations, surprise at the wrong moments. Just a wonderful job.
Even just his tone. Osiris never had the time to sound conniving before, but that "Think, Mithrax" line when he was saying we should just capture Quria was sickeningly smooth.

He remade dendron, to study it, which he then lost control of and it tried to regain control of the infinite forest. He also left the sundial, what is basically a time machine, that even DRIFTER said was a bad idea, on it's own completely unguarded for some amount of time (I forget how much) which allowed the cabal to find it and start using it. Albeit, those threats were a bit more contained to Mercury and he had us to fix his problems (which he still does). Not saying it cant be Osiris being manipulated by Savathun but, given his record, he could be doing this on his own.

Yes, Lakshmi is planning to overthrough the Vanguard, but she wanted to do that for quite some time now and even states that the fallen are just a good katalyst. The reasons she uses for her claim to a change of leadership are not good either. That we use the darkness came through us, not the vanguard and is not a negative thing, as long as we use it correctly. And her claim that using it is a big mistake is obviously very hypocritic, since she uses the technology of the vex all the time, thinking she can controll it. And the alliences with Caiatl and the fallen are for obvious reasons not a bad thing at all. Humanity is in the best position it has ever been in since the golden age. The only thing that really needs to change is that we need a new hunter vanguard. And obviously Savathúns influence, but no change in Vanguard will stop the Witch-Queen from manipulating us. She has been overthrowing empires for many, many millennia.
Lakshmi and her followers wouldn't be able to do shit against the Vanguard, even if she did win and kick out the eliksni, it won't last long if the literal hordes of guardians who have slain actual gods had anything to say about it.
But the gaurdians wouldn't be able to do anything against the masses they swore to protect. I don't think a gaurdian shooting a lightless civilian would bode well for the Vangaurd. And Saint would lose a ton of sleep if the children of the city started seeing gaurdians as monsters. Lakshmi doesn't need to go up against gaurdians, she just needs to convince the people thay the gaurdians are evil.

No, she likes to sow discord, make people doubt themselves and each other, her worm feeds on deceit and ignorance.
