    Your vids are great, just a normal boat guy, keep it up..I worked at mercury racing shop, your 250 should have easily turned that 24, we've ran 26 and 28s, something is not right, cleaver is wrong prop, you need bow lift not stern lift. For your safety get a nosecone gearcase so you don't have a blowout bro, plus it's faster too..Just free advice..lol

    • @boatvibes
      @boatvibes  3 роки тому

      Thank you man I figured out today my issue, fuel pressure is at 50psi the whole time. I just ordered a new fuel regulator, in this video guardian was limiting me because of the oil tank it did not beep but will limit me. I disconnected the tank and then connected the two wires together. Also my buddy let me use his regulator that I know works. The boat ran amazing! It was a quick run but it definitely made a difference. Everyone keeps telling me about a nosecone I might have to do it soon.

    • @MnDan
      @MnDan 3 роки тому

      @@boatvibes We disconnected the oil stuff and just mixed, less headaches. The nosecone will give you better handling, more lift, noticeable better performance. We used Bob's seeing your skills, you should be able to do it yourself. Yup low fuel pressure will do it, I could hear the labor on video. If you get a chance try a Trophy plus, great holeshot and lift, might be 2 to 3mph slower than a mirage. Keep the videos coming bro, fun to see👍👍 just don't end up on chit show...lol

      Hey danc0068, I have a few questions for you! I just mounted a 2001 300x onto a 20 foot Arriva "Ski" open bow, with a 5 inch jack plate/set back (needed to accommodate a 25" shaft). I have no idea what to expect, super excited to get 'er wet. Still working on gages and wiring. I think it weighs 2300 pounds total, I'm at 6400' elevation. I just took a 1991 Yamaha 225 off it; the Yamaha is very reliable, but only has 91 psi compression (this Yamaha will go on a 1978 16' Cee Bee Avenger, again, no idea what to expect, but I will wear a life jacket and maybe a helmet 🤣). This "new" merc has 150-152 psi... I'm hoping for 70+ with this new package. Any suggestions on where to start with prop, style and pitch? Do they make a "nose cone gear case" for the merc 300x? Or do I need to find an after market one? Would nose cone gear case make a big difference in my application? I've owned this boat for 20 years, I love it, but I scrapped the Force 150 (39 mph), next I tried a 2001 Merc 150 (50mph), a 1991 Yamaha 225 (51 mph) and now this big Merc 300x, all in pursuit of 70 mph. I'd love any input. Any thoughts on the Yamaha/Cee Bee project? Thanks!

      @@bcbarc7044 I believe it's a heavy boat and needs bow lift. I'd try a 4 blade trophy, or a bravo..Trophy will give you lift. If you can find a big hub laser ii.

    Do u know if u happened to be on the chit show since u came out of Blackpoint Marina? And I’m pretty sure u know what the chit show is with good ole Alfred and his channel! Was he there that day filming when u took out the checkmate? And just curious have u tried a Cleaver propeller? And what size mercury is that? U need to try and find a 250 Pro XS outboard!!!! Those motors are freaking bullet proof!!!

    • @boatvibes
      @boatvibes  3 роки тому +1

      No he was not there that day. I haven't had a chance to try Cleaver prop. I have a 2003 250 efi in my opinion this engine is more bulletproof than the pro access because it doesn't have the extra injectors and the compressor. By the end of the year I'm going to be putting a brand new 300 Pro Xs on the checkmate

      @@boatvibes oh heck yeah, that will be badass big man!!! And yeah all my buddys that had bass boats all had that pro Xs and never had a lick of trouble out of them that’s just why I mentioned that motor. @@boatvibes just out of curiosity, will that new v8 weigh down the back to much? I don’t know what the differences in weight would be between that optimax I have on there and the new v8? And hell if ur going to do the new v8 why not just do a new 300R instead of the pro xs or a 250R? I believe they make a 250R. But that thing is going to shoot out of the water with one of those new v8 motors on the back!! I can’t wait for u to do it big man!! And what’s the update on ur dads motors being rebuilt, are they done yet?
