The Reason why Dido is so special to me is that her music sounds like she truly does it to express herself and not for any commercial or success reasons. Her music is to enjoy - she's one of a handful ARTISTS you can truly listen to and I really enjoy her music. There are often days, where I lay down, put my earphones on and only listen to her songs, because they calm me down and I hear her - do you get what I mean? You can hear her, when she sings.
Dido is one of a kind.
I feel the same way about her. She is not jumping on any trend just for the sake of sales. She does her thing which she does brilliantly.

I used to hear to your songs when I was I teenager. Then I lost track of you for a while and I am finally recapitulating now... I've been listening to your last albums (2013 and on!), and they still sound as good as the first ones. I don't know what inspires you to write the lyrics, but they are so meaningful. I admire how you can put all those feelings down into words and then make them sound so beautifully, even when they actually describe painful situations in life. Your songs are healing.

What makes Dido so unique is she doesn't need all that crap. Most people on there probably won't like her music anyway.
Even more relevant for me as a Dido fan, and just went through 2 hurricanes here in Honduras this month, and went through hurricane Andrew, Wilma, and many others back in Miami. Life is much like a hurricane. You gotta be prepared as much as possible to weather the storm, and also be willing to start all over when you're left with nothing.

Her brother Rollo who produced this track is a bit of a unsung hero here, this track is all about his production, the lightly used reverb on her vocal with the heavily modulated delay during the vocal rests are the little things that build the great picture.

Listening to Dido has always been my safe heaven. I remember going to my backyard and listening to her music, watching the rain. It was the loneliest but also the happiest of times.
The very best female singer in the world...listened to Hurricane and it's the first time I ever heard of a male Hurricane... but the song is right... I should know, I live in Southwest Florida... It's my opinion, but since I have followed Dido since 1999 I can say she is one class act.... I would love to see her live....and I think she has the best voice in the world....
