Tbh , mine was very easy . I got to the stop sign leaving the testing area , took a right , changed lanes and I got to the traffic lights and kept going straight then I took a left onto a neighborhood , went through it , got out and went straight back and she told me I passed

Southern Virginia is wayyy different than this. I had 3 sessions. One consisted of going on highways and backroads (I did terrible at backing out and almost ran a red light), another was driving on the interstate, and the last one was just about parallel parking. I passed even though I made errors. DMV test seems way harder than in southern part.

i have mine in virginia beach tomorrow. really nervous. this will be my second try, first try was in Massachusetts and i failed. i was extremely anxious that time. i think ill still be anxious this time but hopefully ill do a lot better. been getting in a lot of practice lately. wish me luck!

I didn't have to go on the highway nor did I have to demostrate controls. I did however have to parallel park, hill start, and k turn
Saw a few rolling stops on this. In Alberta you would get an automatic fail.
Not to mention you have to parallel behind one car
You have to parallel park in Ontario too and you’re also tested on the highway here too.
Virginia requires no parallel park.
Failed once due to high anxiety… I’m gonna pass tomorrow !

She didn't make a complete stop but I guess
Where I'm at, that would be considered an automatic failure of the driving test for failing to obey a traffic sign. At least she was good about using her turn signals. She also didn't stop before crossing the stop line on a red light, which technically counts as running a red light as well.

This cannot be a pass, She did good however not a single stop was legal. She either came to a full stop but passed the line, or rolled the stop. I cannot believe how simple this test is..

In some instances, if you can't see on either side, you're able to pass the line a bit
Zirrnorseman No you can never pass the stop line. What you have to do is make a complete stop at the line then if you can’t see for oncoming traffic then that’s when you move forward to check your left and right sides.

@@1tayblow I took it in southern virginia and they honestly only really make me drive on a busy main road and made me switch lanes a few times, then took me through a neighborhood, then took me back to the dmv through the same main road I started on. Took me like 10 minutes and wasnt hard. I made a few mistakes but still passed. It was extremely easy.

Keya Tay dont know if you took it yet but just wanted to drop some advice I took mine a few days ago in Norfolk. The people were chill but the test in and of itself it REALLY easy. Its basically all parking just take your time and make sure you look closely to not hit a cone if you feel like you’re cutting it close slow down reverse and correct it. If you are lucky enougb to have a car with a back up camera it will be absolute cake even if you dont its not hard at all. Back up park, regular parking, and 3 point turn thats all

Kay_ dayoungan yeah I have to because I’m under 18 I took segment 1 and 2 and for you if you’re under 18 you have to take drivers Ed and both but if your abt to turn 18 you just gotta take one
Keya Tay oh my friend got his and he didn’t have to do drivers ed but he’s in alabama. i have these papers they gave me when i got my permit saying if u are 18 and older and have not completed a virginia approved drivers ed use this form to apply to take the road skills test

In Canada it takes 45 minutes to an hour!!!

Super Man if you’re 18, you can just take the test. If you’re under 18, you have to have held ur permit for 6 months and take a drivers ed class. This info is for VA btw

idk if u still need this but the week long driving schools, not through the dmv are insanely easy and dont require manuevers, you just drop off and pick up other people that are also signed up
i did it and only did parking because i asked to practice a little bit

Has anyone here taken their road test in Front Royal? I’m supposed to go there soon, but I don’t know much about the roads or the speed limits. I went there once a few months ago, and from what I recall, some of the roads were pretty narrow, so I’m gonna assume that the speed limits are pretty low.

Annie Drummond Nope, I’m from Yorktown and I’m getting my test in a few weeks. I wanted to see if we had to do parallel parking, a three point turn, or anything of the sort.
I did mine last week and passed I didn’t do any parallel park nor 3 point turn all I did was drive right turn left turn change lanes and return and park that’s all took me about 15 minutes the most

Do you have to put the signal at 6:38 when exiting cuz I mean you’re already in the lane so what would be the point?
yes. so the cars behind you know that you plan on staying in that lane and exiting and, that u will slow down. some people merge from exit lanes onto the left, without a signal the cars behind you in the left lane won't know if you plan on merging left or exiting. its better to keep the signal just in case

Si eres pregunatando si muchas personas no lo pasan porque no hablan ingles bien, entonces eres correcta. En mi estado (y probablemente mucho mas), no puedes tocar el examen si no puedes communicar con y entender el inspector porque es muy peligroso. Espero que mi español es facíl para entender. Gracias.
