Trinity Blood is a vampire anime that doesn't seem to belong to the vampire supernatural genre as it incorporates elements never done before and since it was released. It's just sad that the writer passed away before he could finish the light novel series... and his friend and colleague would never touch the work he left behind for fear of not doing it justice (quite the reverse of what happened with Berserk when Miura passed away so unexpectedly, drawing mixed reactions from the fandom as to the subsequent chapters released post mortem). In any case, Trinity Blood is more of a scifi-fantasy work with somewhat a bit of romance and quasi-political, religious controversy squeezed in between. The elegant art (often compared with the original version of Trigun) is, maybe, what puts it above the traditional vampire/ zombie horror-suspense genre, which oftentimes focuses a little too much on the horrific and the macabre. I miss this anime and the song... it carries its own identity that has somewhat similar vibes with Saiyuki, Yami no Matsuei, and Weiss Kreuz. The theme also ties in with most work in the Tales series- a superhuman protagonist struggling/ fighting for the peaceful coexistence of humans and other races/species or, as in the case of Trinity Blood, what appears to be the product of biogenetic engineering gone wrong in the worst possible way.
Btw the song 'Dress' is from Buck Tick, a prominent japanese rock band, whose vocalist Atsushi Sakurai (the person you hear in the song) died in October of 2023. You can check out their official youtube channel. His voice is angelic.
Loved Trinity Blood, getting into the manga now that the anime's through, and I've gotta say they CHANGED a few things-but it's hard to hate Abel Nightroad regardless! You just gotta love him-he's such a klutz, but then he's always so nice and never tries to be anything but himself, so you just can't not love him. Abel Nightroad forever! *cheers yay*

I just noticed that a lot of characters in Trinity Blood look like characters from other animes. Abel looks similar to Kabuto from Naruto, That girl vampire from the episode with the witch girl looks a bit like Lust from FMA and FMAB, The male vampire from the first episodes with Esther in them looks like Haji from Blood+, just to name a few

Try going after the novels, which is the source material for the manga and the anime. The novels is something incredible and delightful to read.
My only complaint about Trinity Blood, it was too short.
