Lovely jars. I appreciate you having the background music very low so it doesn’t seem like you’re yelling at us. Can’t wait to see what else you come up with. I love the homemade goodness.
What attracted my eyes was the label on the front picture of this video, Homemade Christmas. That was all it took for me to stop and look. Lol. I just want something homemade, down to earth, humble, real, with true meaning, not anymore commercialization of Christmas. No stress, just happy comfortable peaceful. And fun! Your house looks comfortable, and at rest.
I made this tonight for some friends. It's so beautiful! I didn't have any home grown lavender, but I found some today at a small local shop, which is always great!
Oh wow, that’s a lovely ideal gift to give. After the difficulties we have all had this year. Perfect. Looking forward to seeing you makes. Thanks for sharing 👍😎🎄🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻
I've been making gifts too for my daughters, I have 3. I also made some bath salts, bath balms, dandelion salve, dry skin dandelion lotion and plantain salve and homemade soap bars. I also made jars of hot coco and your mason jar spice cake mix and cornbread one. I also threw in a dry mix for pancakes. It's so much fun. I need a nice body butter recipe. Now I have to make the baking goodies and snacks.
Happy Holiday's. That 1870's HomeStead. I loved what you did with the bath salt. It looks lovely. What a nice gift for family and friends. God Bless. Be safe. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello can you send the quantities of salt? I got a little confused when you said the recipe called for 3 oz but then you said you were going to double. Did you start with 32 or 64 oz of Epsom salt? Sorry I tried to rewind several times and still not sure of the ratios. Thanks in advance!
I was so excited to see you had a new video today. So i went and made a coffee (on my coffee maker i made like yours) and sat and watched. Love your channel.
I found myself saying, It's right there , Rachel , hahahaaa Now THIS is something I can do for my friend's :) Thank you sweetie for sharing this with all of us , we just LOVE you !! God Bless :) And if you cannot find the wooden top's, you could always use Saran Wrap to seal it and then use a pretty swatch of cloth on top with the lid :)
I love doing my own craft stuff. I started with beeswax lip balms and solid lotion bars(I know you have beeswax somewhere lol) and bath bombs and I think this years crafty corner is going to be hot cocoa bombs. The grandkiddos want to try. I have smaller molds so we figure if we make several different flavors you can mix and match to make the right strength of cocoa per cup. Your videos are always right on time happy holidays
I’m doing the same thing this year! I have cancer and the treatments that I’m taking i can’t be out and about.. so that means think outside the box.. we have homemade crochet wash cloths, bath salts, milk bath, etc
I'm glad you enjoyed them. Probably not this year. I'll be down in SC for most of the time leading up to Christmas - spending time with my new grandbaby ♥
Thank you thank you thank you lol. I have had a large quantity of lavender buds I need to use and this is PERFECT! I just needed some more Epsom salts and ordered via Amazon and will definitely be making these for my 2 daughters for Christmas. I already have the lavender and eucalyptus essential oils but wasn't sure how to put this together. Again thanks for the great idea! UPDATE: I found red regular mouth lids on Amazon and am using red and green twine around them: The brand is KOOK. 16 red metal lids for $12.95.
I'm pretty sure you're not old enough to be my parents, but you do remind me of my sister and your husband also reminds me of her husband. Either way, you guys still make me feel at home ❤️
Hi, I'm a subscriber. Love this idea, but unfortunately no mason jars in the stores in my area. I will have to look and see if Amazon has any. I've seen Himalayan salt, but where do you find the coarse??
Oh use any jar, even a cute reusable salad dressing jar or wine bottle would be cute. I save all my glass jars for purposes like this. Course sea salt was also bought on amazon

Dog in background toward the end was awesome.
These are gorgeous! Glad you're back - I was going through withdrawal!

Absolutely love your videos!
Love this idea....dang I never saved lavendar buds......I hate to say it...but "next year"
You can always just skip that step, I'm sure the oils alone would be wonderful 😄
@@1870s that's true

Thank you
Very nice
Great idea, thanks for sharing
You are so welcome!
Could you add coconut oil to this and make it a scrub?
Amazon still has the wooden lids. BUT it’s like $23 for 4 of them!
Yeah, I saw that. It's a bit on the expensive side.
@@1870s of course a simple piece of fabric under the screw band can be cute too 😉

Lol I thought you were going to say my kitchen looks like crap then you said crafting time 🤣😅.
I’ve been wondering where you were lol
(But seriously a bit worried someone was sick)
All good, just taking a break / rest.

Puppy wants out
They either want out / in every 5 minutes 😄
Hey Rachel. You used 32oz of Epsom salt so was that doubled from the original recipe? Sorry I was a little confused with the measurements
The recipe called for 20oz epsom salt, 3 oz each course and fine sea salt, 40 drops EO and 3 Tbs of lavender buds
Do you just dry the lavender flowers out
Yep harvest all summer just for uses like this
The wooden jar lids are $20 for 4.
The link in the description opens up.
Where do you get your oils and salts ???
All came from Amazon: www.amazon.com/shop/that1870shomestead?listId=2CYBYQ566DP1G
Thanks
Your homs is beau5iful
Awe, thank you! It's all decorated and ready for Christmas!
Rachel, where's your dining table gone?
