"Knowing that you're nothing is wisdom, and knowing that you're everything is love.
Knowing/realizing/experiencing both simultaneously is the ultimate non-duality".

Dropping everything that society says that I am, what a wonderful feeling to meet myself in my 30s I am who I say I am.
Yeah that's why you have men thinking there women or cats
I felt the same way too until right after my 32nd birthday, personality and your personal world is quite the illusion. You are much larger than the idea of yourself people see, so be that and watch the world turn as the observer.
@@ZCasPlays Love this for you
Is that against the point though? Cause "you aren't "

ありがとうございます♡ The concept of non-duality is beyond religion.
Ancient Indians didn't believe in any religion, they followed dharma with different schools of thought like Vaishnavism, Shaivism, Shaktism, Jainism (Shraman), Vedanta, Ancient pure vedic.
Hindu is a geographical identity given by Persian
We follow dharma which means righteousness and you can learn about it on the internet
Even Shintoism is very much similar to us

Nonduality exist in only two religions:
Buddhism and advaita hinduism
Edit: saiva siddhanta of hinduism
Gautama buddha gave nihilism
And his philosophy was good
But later Ashoka used it as a missionary religion for politics
And later buddhist themselves corrupted it
They used nudity and bull shit stories for conversion of hindus

We often identify ourself with our body, name, nationality, religion, color but here's the catch....we identify ourself with these things, so it means we are something that is separate and different from these things and once we are free from these physical attributes, what remains is GOD AKA Superconsious and by that time, Our individual identity will be dissolved so we don't even exist (mean to say a person who identify himself with illusions and false images about himself), it is God who is experiencing the life through various different bodies

There's this movie calleed "LUCY" with Scarlett Johanssen in the lead role that sums the whole thing up. The final resting duality helps us stay "in love" in line with bhakti / devotion for those who can't directly stomach unfamiliar Advaita experience. However, unlike Lucy's initial confusion in the movie, the cosmic Brahman is a state of bliss, rather than the emotionless resignation that Scarlett portrayed. Some of us experience such bliss in fair measure during meditative samaadhi states.
For you, me and those who hold on and have trouble letting go.

The example of the rope and the snake really made me understand: you simply look at reality for what it really is
Same here!

Rope / snake is the classic example used in advaita to bring out the error of the appearance of the universe. there are other examples, one that can directly replace rope / snake is 'mother of pearl / silver'. other examples used for explaining other contexts of non duality are - desert / mirage, clay / pot, sea / waves, diamond / washerman, washerman / donkey, the princess of kashi, ....etc...

It’s the fact that nature offers us a variety of ways to experience this non-dual experience through (I’ve heard, not experienced myself) deep meditation, psychedelics (which I have experienced myself), near death experiences that makes me believe there is a cosmic mind that wants to communicate with us.
I have followed Buddhist meditation practices for many years, and experienced the world as a peaceful dream.
I had experiences of being guided by a benevolent spirit, and a deep connection with all life even before any knowledge of any religion, and I was an atheist.
A Course In Miracles teaches non - judgment and forgiveness, as well as faith in God.

@@aa-io9jq I don’t know the intangible, only the tangible. That oneness was tangible, only because I put one foot in. If I put the other in, I wouldn’t be here, so I wouldn’t know. Maybe there is distance, I don’t believe so, I believe we go our separate ways, each one of us every given moment.

Dear Follower of the Throat Chakra, This is a very good presentation of non-duality.
That was a very concise yet comprehensive summary. Thank you very much I enjoyed reading it and hearing it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am nothing and everything at the same time , I do and I don’t , and I am and I am not. Trying to define who you are is like trying to bite your own teeth . You are God

If anyone is interested in a concise description of non-dualism experientially check out D.E. Harding’s “On having no head”. First book I’ve come across that really puts this in simple terms
I grasp that I’m part of the whole( interconnected nexus of cause and effect), but I clearly recall, as a five year old child, that I am me…a feeling of great discovery. I get that universal human consciousness differs according to individual experiences…and can indeed be clarified to a more original open and receptive state…we can alter our state of being 💫
Nice explanation. "Only in the absence of all thoughts and differentiations". I like that
I don't understand how you can be so positive about this, it's horrifying to me, I already knew it but it just reinforces it, how can everything be so meaningless and at the same time utter perfection.
I understand exactly what you mean. A nonduality teacher would say that everything is only horrifying and meaningless to your ego. And the ego doesn’t actually exist. A wave is not horrified when it finds out that it’s actually the whole ocean…and the ocean is not meaningless. (Just trying to help here. Love you. ❤️)
you have good sensibilities mate, its shows you are sane person. Non-duality is just one side of equation. True oneness means simultaneous duality and nonduality. So bassicaly we are eternal individuals and this remains eternaly fact. Even after liberation. Difference is that in perfected state there is love of God. Becouse in love two are like one.

I merely quoted Nisargadatta's idea about duality I liked.
".....Practicaly we are small part of whole...."
I'm sorry. Don't want to be a wise guy, but that surely sounds to me as something, "..we are small part of...."
"......... If we are disconnected from God then we are like nothing, but if we connect to God we realize our full potential...."
Kind of what Nisargadatta said to be honest. Our 'full potential' is understanding the connection (between you and nothing and everything).
Is our 'full potential' "something" in your opinion?
".......But that does not mean we become everything. Part never become whole, altouhg if it serve the whole he/she got full advantages......"
I experienced differently, and I feel Nisargadatta as well.
So is "god" whole? I mean, when a "part" (like you) connects to god, does he/she/it becomes more whole or is that connection meaningless. If one keeps serving that "whole" one can never really connect to it in my opinion.
Wonderful summary of non-dualism. As you mentioned there are various schools of non-dualism, but in the end, they all have to be one. My one suggestion would be - assuming the intent is to appeal to more than just followers of Vedanta, or even Hinduism in general - is to skip words like "Brahman" or "Maya", or any other Sanskrit technical terms unless there is no translation. Even those words don't exist in the final analysis, so why confuse people who might be new to all this? "Consciousness" and "illusion" are perfectly adequate words, in this example.
My own experience has been, in this regard, that the less said the better.
I would go with Nisargadatta on this one (and the freedom of a little adding/misquoting of it, by myself):
"Knowing that you're nothing is wisdom, and knowing that you're everything is love.

@@marcjacobscontinued9411 I see the koan-esque nature of the quote, similar to saying that enlightenment is being awake in deep sleep. It all sounds good, but even so, my own sense is that saying nothing is best.

My understanding is that nondual or "not-two" does not mean "oneness". The ultimate reality is oneness, yes, but there is also the conventional reality which is also real. It's living within both of these views, not landing in either one, not-two. Form is emptiness, emptiness is form
Is my understanding below correct?
Consciousness is dreaming this world world within itself.
Consciouness experiences it’s dream world from the POV of the dream world’s characters.
I am Consciousness experiencing my dream world from the POV of this dreamed character.
All the characters in the dream are dreamt up by consciousness and consciousness is experiencing its dreamworld through each of them also.
After consciousness has experienced it’s dream world from the POV of it’s current dream characters, it’ll dream up new ones

Has anyone experienced depression after awakening? I awakened 2.5 years ago and have been coping with depression and feelings of meaninglessness of everything. I am now starting to realize that ultimately nothing truly matters in the end, but in this world of form we must have a job that makes enough money, maintain relationships with friends and family, exercise and eat well so our bodies are healthy, etc. Any tips on coping with these feelings of depression?
Sorry to hear. I feel as though being depressed means you perhaps didn't actually awaken. You say you're experiencing meaninglessness - but if life feels heavy you are still attaching meaning and importance to material reality. It is meaningless, a show of light, an illusion- take a light touch and have fun! It can mean whatever you want it to. You are powerful! Look into the Law of Assumption.
Live this life bro that’s it. Just keep living this life. Go with the Body and just live. Make it as best as you can without comparing yourself to anyone. Just live life until you can’t no more.
If you're listening to this video you may have adopted a false world view where there is no ultimate truth. Where the goal of eventually stepping off the wheel of samsara brings you to "what remains after the snuffing out of a candle". What could be more depressing? But Jesus Christ IS the Truth! A life in Christ ultimately gives you everlasting Life and unbounded Joy with the Creator of all things in the universe. I implore you not to pass up this most amazing and fantastic offer!

It happened to me many times that the 'fictional' thing was what I felt 'real'
This would be totally incomprehensible to anyone not already familiar with non duality and spiritual concepts, stories and language.
Me and a friend had a long conversation about duality and nonduality. I tried explaining that nonduality could exist without duality because it does, but he thinks they coincide almost but not quite like Ying and yang. He acknowledges that nonduality is the entire symbol not just the two sides but said there would be no symbol without the duality meaning nonduality cannot be, and that's where I disagreed. What do yall think?
You are who you are,and can’t be explained in another way. A world of judgement for one God in your midst.

I disagree that our perception is not fundamentally real. I believe that there is a manifested and non manifested truth. Otherwise why do we exist in the 3rd dimension?
Does this have to do with the wisdom of universe creating everything as a form of 0/1 masculine/ feminine plus/minus etc.? So does nonduality schools disagree that everything is 0/ and 1 in a way?

I try and see myself as energy and conscious awareness which uses a body to get from one point to another. I’m starting to think that’s actually what I really am and that everything else is like ornaments on a Xmas tree or something. Who knows lol.
You nailed it. I believe that I = energy = life. When we exist as newborns our experience with matter is zilch, so discovering that we can wiggle a hand is incredible. Now we take that for granted that it is "our" hand, but really it's no more ours than any other piece of matter.
Babies can wiggle their hands, kick and roll weeks before their birth.@@aisthpaoitht
Form is emptiness, emptiness is form.
There is A truth to non duality, but there is also A truth that I exist as a distinct human being with a history and life all my own...
where are all your memories stored?
What is so funny is when I was about 10 years old I was with my family and it was dark leaving a driveway "in the woods" that had a gate. I would get out and shut the gat and hang the rope around the top of the gate. I had a flashlight but I knew exactly where everything was so I didn't have it on. I reached to grab the rope and I thought it felt different. I stood there feeling it for about 4 or 5 seconds and then I turned on the flashlight and there was a small Garter Snake hanging from the rope. It didn't bite me, and my dad caught it and my sister was holding it and it bit her. Then we let it go. So everytime I hear this classic example of Maya I always laugh, because it is just so funny how things work out. We may see a snake where there's actually a rope...and sometimes it can even be a snake and a rope. Lol.
What a coincidence! Had fun reading your story. Ifeel like adding that in his book Vivekchoodamani, the famous Shankaracharya says that what we have made of this world in our mind is like a snake, holding on to it and all the attachments make us miserably unhappy....while in Truth it is only a rope. So my friend, we need to stick to Truth to remove our miseries....Be happy. Thanks for sharing your story.🙏☺️👏
I find this really scary. How do you guys cope with this kind of thinking? I find it scary because I believe it's true. Does that mean you aren't there? Do we all exist at once or does consciousness only exist in me (or you if you're reading this?)
It just means YOU are not a separate individual person You are the universe, infinite awareness that you was born with
Ram Ram 🙏💐
This is how I imagine it. no pun intended. 😃
Nothing exists, and we are merely an illusion of the dissonance that emerges when something believes itself to be separate from itself, which is nonexistence.
Sat Chit Ananda 🙌🏼
The so-called object (things that exist in parallel to us) is really the subject of our being (the substance of our existence/experience). Hence two are actually one (non-duality).
objects? you mean shapes?
So basically it is the difference between our experience and the energy that fuels the experience?
Does the enlightened person then continuously “experience” life as only consciousness? Or is his/her daily experience the same subject-object duality that we all experience, but he/she “knows” that the duality is only an appearance?
Names for the not named are elusive reference for what is. Peace permeates all things inherently. Thank You! Be kind ;)
Volcanic eruptions, armed robbers, electrical storms, and sharks permeate their victims with terror. "Non dualism" surely evaporates in these moments when Reality happens to interrupt one's meditation.
Very nice explanation
Excellent.... thanks.
